I just was there a few days ago. The server was just okay, but I really enjoyed the food and entertainment - and I'm not really a huge fan of German food. I'd go back again. It'd been over 10 years since I last at there, so it was about time to go back.
Ditto! Though I will add in that most of the food is not strange at all. Its mostly comfort type food, with something most people will like. I love the sliced roast pork with the gravy and spaetzle or with the apricot chutney. YUM! The entertainment is very fun and all the guests get involved. I highly recommend the Biergarten at least once, though it IS a must do for us every year.
Biergarten is one of our favorites. The buffet is good and has a wide variety of food to choose from. Each hour the band plays for about twenty minutes. To me, it is one of the better themed restaurants on property. It is set up to feel like you are sitting outside in a little German village in the evening during Octoberfest. The tables are set up in tiers semi-circle around the stage so there is not a bad seat in the restuarant. A dance floor sits in front of the stage. Tables seat eight - if your party has less, you will be seated with strangers (that never bothered us). My family and I love this restaurant.
Ohana is also nice, very good food and they have coconut races for the kids which is fun. The food is served family-style.
We love biergarten. I don't eat beef or pork and always find something yummy to eat. They have some good cold stuff as well as the hot buffet. I never eat much dinner, because they have the best desserts on property so I stuff myself on apfelstrudel and the bavarian cheesecake. The entertainment and atmosphere are similar to the biergartens in Germany. If you decide to go, I hope you like it.
Love the biergarten! Definite must for us. Just know that they seat you "family style" so you will most likely be at a table with others. Very fun environment and very authentic German food.
