How is Amare?

We are looking for some different dining for our Festival of Arts trip. We are staying at Beach Club Villa. How is Amare? I read a rave review of one of their Flatbreads.

We've dined at Amare and found it - adequate. Not bad. Not horrible. Perfectly acceptable.

There are lots of good choices around the present lake resorts. You can have a good time at restaurants like Flying Fish. Yachtsman, and Il Mulino.

+1 Great option if you're staying at the Reserve; particularly if it's during a thunderstorm.

We dined there last year. I would agree, adequate is a good descriptor. Nothing wrong, but nothing stood out. The food was fine, but far from the quality of Il Mulino. I was expecting it to be more upscale (maybe that was my fault), but it isn't. Not planning to return.

Well, we ate there last night and it was fantastic!!!

House specialty bread with different spreads
Grilled souvlaki
Amare flatbread
Romesco chicken
Sea bass al cartoccio
Baba Ghanoush
Grilled Asparagus
Brussel sprouts with a honey glaze.

Delicious and relaxed.

maybe it has gotten better as our meal ( a year ago) was far from fantastic. Adequate was being very generous. Glad your experience was much better than ours.

I ate there earlier this year and I would agree with the adequate comments. It’s a very elegant looking restaurant but the food doesn’t really live up to the first impressions.

Glad you had a great meal.

Thanks for all of the feedback. Not sure what we will do. After two so-so meals at California Grill (Love the location/view, really dislike the price fixed menu & its impact on the quality of the meal) I am just trying to mix things up.

We tried Amare in June and every person in our party of 7 thought the food was great. Based on others' feedback it seems we might have gotten lucky but aside from the food the ambiance and service were great if you're like us and appreciate a more low-key, off the beaten path dining experience.

I am on the adequate train along with the others. It wasn't bad, but nothing exceptional. We have stayed at the Swan Reserve three times since our visit to Amare and we pass it by not blinking an eye. 😬

Food is terribly subjective though.

I'd mix it up like you said, @sueg. Give it a try. You're not far away staying at Beach Club. I do like the bar adjacent to the restaurant, Stir. I believe you can get some of Amare's food at the bar too. Not sure if the flatbread you saw rave reviews is available at Stir, but my guess is it probably is.
