How is Alamo with combining codes & coupons?

Hi
I'm aware of the "small print", but...:rolleyes1

I've got a pretty good rate reserved for June, but if I plug in an Entertainment book coupon code with the vacaion outlet i.d number, it brought the rate down another $10.
(The entertainment coupon has a coupon code and it's own i.d. number, I just switched out the entertainment book's i.d. number with the vacation outlet i.d. number)

Although the Alamo site accepted the coupon, my instinct tells me to just keep what I have. But if it's a common thing, then...

Thanks,
Mark

I always mix rate codes, ID #s and coupon codes. Whatever is the cheapest combination is what I reserve. I have never had a problem when I picked up the car.

I've never had a problem combining codes and coupons, but they DO ask for the coupon, so you will need it in hand.

Be careful that you look at the final total on vacation outlet. I got a much cheaper quote on the rental but the total with all the taxes was higher on vacationoutlet.com.

Alamo disallowed an Enter. coupon w/a WalMart ID on one of our res (which, is why we switched to National for our rentals last year). We were only penalized the coupon amount ($20?).

Since EA's still very high for our 1st rental period (June); I rebooked our Alamo res using QS & Entertainment book ID & $20 coupon for weekly rental. Got the mid-size SUV for 8 days @ $122. That price even beats the WDW AP rate.

Good luck.

Did this happen when picking up? Or when booking initially?

Last thing we want is to be held up when picking up the car (especially over a $10 savings...)

Thanks for the input,

In MCO terminial, when picking up @ QS line.

Since they move sooooooooo slowly @ their check-out desk, it didn't seem to add any additionaly time to our "face-time"; they just disallowed the coupon amount, and we were on our way (within an hour - usually LOL).

If they'd just stop trying to sell more expensive components of their contracts or try to get people to upgrade, etc.; the whole line would move much quicker. (Of course, it would help if people had a clue about the whole process too as in having their Driver's license, insurance & credit card info in their hands - go figure!)

Good luck.
