Considering booking AKL for the last few days of our Easter Vacation and the only thing available is pool view. We have stayed savannah veiw in the past and love AKL so I think pool view will be fine but I am a bit worried about potential noise.

Anyone stayed pool view that wants to give me a quick pro/con review?

Thanks
TJ

Just to say we stayed in Zebra Trail room 1466 (ground floor, pool side). A main walkway round the pool was right outside our door and we were never disturbed by noise :) .

Thanks- I am leaning toward booking it .... maybe, <g>
SeaSpray your pictures are wonderful, if I could get that room it would be a done deal:)

The AAA quote I got has a standard room at the BW and an AKL pool room at the same price. Since we are at the Dolpin our first several nights I thought AKL would be nice and relaxing away from the bustle. They also have lots for kids to do and we may incorporate a non-park day into the stay.

I'd pick pool view over savannah view any day, mainly because I don't want to walk to the end of the world every time I want to refill my mug. We had 2 pool view rooms in December. I did not notice any noise at all from the pool. We stayed on Zebra trail, I think on the 4th floor. We were 3 doors away from the elevators which was great! made it quick to go to Mara, pool, or arcade.

I am really wanting to book it and pool view sounds great esp if its closer to the mara and the pool. My dd's are at the age where they can manage the resort by themselves for a bit and that would help.

I currently have CSR and AKL is almost twice the price but IMHO so worth it. I have to look at our tentative schedule and see if I can justify it by spending more time at the resort during the AKL part of our stay. If my dd's didn't love the pool at CSR almost as much as they do the AKL it would be a no-brainer. I think they will also like the bunk beds after 6 nights of sharing a queen bed at the Dolphin:)

I am going to decide by tomorrow - I hope :)

The first time we had a pool view room we were directly above the health club and it was a lovely view. We spent every morning and several evenings on the balcony taking it in. The second time we were on ground floor by Mara and all we could see were bushes, cig butts, and heads of people walking by. Not so good. We couldn't even see the pool. But boy could we hear it.
We commented a few weeks ago when we went to dinner at Jiko that the trees had grown up so much we likely could not see the pool as we had a few years prior.

We had a pool view this time and with the exception of the kiddie pool we couldn't see any water for the trees. Our last day there was a room only day we tacked on at the last minute and it was a standard view. Had a lot of trees in front of it and looked pretty much like the pool view did. :confused3
