How is a taxi from Chicago Union Station to Midway?

Airfare is much cheaper out of Chicago so we'll be taking the train there. I'm curious how much a taxi from Union Station to midway airport is going to cost? Also, how far is the airport from there?

The distance from union station to midway is only about 15 miles but depending on the time of day it could be anywhere from a 20 min ride to over an hour so a cab would probably be in the $20-50 range. You can take the "El" to O'Hare(goes directly to terminal ) but not to Midway- I hope this helps

I believe you can take the ORANGE line to Midway. On the CTA map it shows as the last stop.

The Blue Line of the "L" heading north will take a person to O'Hare.

The Orange Line of the "L" heading south takes a person to Midway.

It's a lot cheaper than taking a cab. Here's a link to the train map:

I was born and raised in Chicago and worked down there for many years. Used to take the Orange line to Midway everyday to go home. If you want exact directions from union....PM me and I'll tell you exactly how to get there. It just a few blocks walk. Otherwise I would guess a cab being around 40.00. Take the Orange Line!!!!

I would go with the orange L, this is cheap,safe, and fast.

The fare to midway from union stations is $2.00. This is for your transfer. Take any of the buses from union station and ask the operator to let you off at the best stop for the orange line. Board the orange line train and with in 20 min you will be at midway. Your other option would be to take the airport express bus. They should be under $10 per person. I work for Chicago Transit so this is something I see everyday.
