How intense is EE?

  • Really intense, the most intense in WDW

  • Pretty intense, as intense as RNR

  • Intense, but not so bad that it's not enjoyable

  • Only moderately intense, it's really quite fun

  • Less intense than Big Thunder Mountain

  • Less intense than Goofy's Barnstormer!

I am a bit of a coaster wimp, I've only ever rode one (The Viper at Six Flags Darien Lake, could anyone compare it to EE?) and I wanted to go on EE but I am a tad bit worried. How intense is it?

I voted moderate--but you won't know until you ride it! I think everyone should ride it at least once and decide for themselves. :thumbsup2

Does this coaster have saftey belts or just a locking bar?? How many people ride together? Is there a site that describes the seating of this coaster and other rides at the parks??? I have to check these out before taking my autistic teenage grandson to know whether he can or cannot ride a ride....I want NO tantrums unneeded. He cannot ride single seat rides and I am the one worried about safety factors of the coasters....they go so fast and crazy turns and twirls!!! Not for me but our Blake loves them!!

It's a locking bar like on BTMRR, however it's a single locking bar as opposed to the full car bar on the railroad. Two passengers per row.

The only single seat "rollercoaster" ride I can come up with on the top of my head is Space Mountain---and I wish they'd change that to be like Disneyland's version.

Maybe someone else can come up with some others but overall I wouldn't worry about it too much. :)

Let me see if I can help. In the gift shop somewhere is a sample seat that you can check out for yourself before you decide to go on the ride. So you'll know EXACTLY what it is like. The seats sit two across. I'm not positive, but I think the restraint was a clicking lap bar. I think they were individual, too. It was not those super intense shoulder restraints, but more secure than those flimsy chain lap belts (Dumbo). I felt it was safe and secure, but not overly confining.
I highly suggest ordering Passporter's guide for Special Needs at WDW (not SN as in the educational definition, but covers every area of special concern in touring WDW - even vegetarian dining). Even for a Disney vet like me, it has great info and facts.

The ride has no loops. It is pretty intense by my standards, but I really enjoyed it. The yeti can be a little scary, you can hear him roaring at you through out the ride, and the story involves him 'chasing away' you as an invader of this territitory. I don't know if that would upset your grandson, or thrill him. The actual part where you see the yeti is very short. Usually, you go right past the yeti though and if you aren't in the front, you will barely see him.

If you go to youtube.com there is a video ride thru of EE.Put in disney theme parks or rides

It's pretty intense - Not unenjoyable to me because I love Coasters. It doesn't go upside down, but the backwards thru the mountain in the dark down spirally banked turns can be disconcerting. The first time, I was so disoriented in the dark, that it almost felt like we had gone upside down - You don't, but that's how surprising it feels.

To me, the Viper is nothing - ExEv is smoother, themed, faster - just all around better.

The only way you're going to know if you like it or not is to do it. It's a great attraction. I would encourage anyone to give it a shot who doesn't have motion issues or fear of drops (DH doesn't like drops) to try it.
