How impossible is it to get a campsite around Christmas?!?!

Just wondering how hard it is to get a campsite booked for the week of Christmas, ANY year?!?! When would I probably have to book it to get one on any particular year?! I assume they go fast when they are made available for booking.

You would have to get them as soon as the time frame opened up.

Your best chance at getting a Christmas Ressie for any year, is to call Disney 499 days from the day you want to check-in. You will only be able to make a room (campsite) ressie, not a package. Hope this helps and good luck.

Christmas to New Years is the highest demand time at the Fort every year. That's reflected in the rates they charge for that time period.

I would suggest at least a year in advance (which is 365 days) but as others said you can go out as far as 499 days. If you are doing a room-only reservation, the rules are pretty loose about dropping days until 5 days before arrival. So if you have an idea that you want to go at that time, get that reservation made well in advance and if anything book a few extra days. Drop unneeded days without penalty once your plans firm up so other folks who need that day can get their reservation filled.

Also different site types fill up faster than others. The Tent/Partial sites are last to fill up at C-NY time but they eventually do.

I'm not an uber planner but you are competing for a fixed number of desirable assets with people who are uber planners for that time frame. If that's what you want then you have to play the game too.

PS - I didn't check but I bet someone knows how many days we are now until 12/25/15...

PPS - okay found a date calculator. 467 days to 12/25/15 from today 9/14/14. You are inside the booking window right now for Christmas 2015. What are you waiting for? Have you already tried for 2015? I checked the WDW calendar and all levels of sites show availability for 12/24/15 to 12/31/15.

Call now for 2015. Already made ours for 2015 after missing out this year for a premium site. I called last year the beginning of Dec. and only full were available and tent sites.

I booked mine last week!! 15 days in December!! I too have missed out on christmas because they book quickly! Now I have the magnet on my fridge reminding me to make ADRs in June of 2015!!!! Hehe

The above information leads to a question I have. I am aware at 499 days you can only book a room, but later on can I call and convert the room into a package?
