How hot will Animal Kingdom be in summer?

We're going the last week of June. Just how hot will Animal Kingdom feel? Is it quite unbearable? It is the park my son is looking forward to the most, and I know that we will need a FULL day to see all we want to. Would we be better off to try and split it into two mornings, say 9-12 or 1 both mornings? Or 9-1 one morning and maybe 4-7 another day?

Hey it's not august/ sept in orlando.

They sell adult slushies too. :rolleyes1

Ok, if your really worried about the heat, then stay away during high heat of the day times like 1ish till 4ish.

Plan a nap or dinning or shows to get you in the ac during that time.

We went once the week after Labor Day and almost melted. However.......no wait for anything so didn't have to be out in that heat too long.

It's funny. I hear people say it feels hotter than the other parks, but I always thought just the opposite! With so many trees and vegetation, it just feels more shaded. Like you're not standing in the middle of the blazing sun all the time! I find Epcot to feel much, much hotter than AK. We go in August and, yes, it's hot everywhere. But we've thoroughly enjoyed our days at AK. We usually just do one full day there, rope drop to closing since they usually close at 5 or 6 when we're there. And Kali is the perfect answer when you feel overheated!

Oh my goodness, finally someone who agrees with me! Yes, AK is full of trees and opportunities for shade. Epcot is just a gigantic slab of concrete. DH and I still make day trips to AK in the summer, but we avoid Epcot like the plague. That walk around World Showcase on a hot day is basically akin to torture. :thumbsup2

Epcot is hot. But at Epcot there are tons of air conditioned buildings to seek shelter! Not so at AK. At the world showcase for example, you can pop into the store of each country as you make your way around.

In my opinion, those stores often offer very little reprieve, since most of them are open-door, and they're often packed with others trying to avoid the sun. And there are looooong stretches of ground to cover at Epcot without buildings to duck into.

Ok thats true. But speaking for myself, AK is hotter than heck. Its the only park thats managed to kick my behind and tire me out leaving me completely lifeless and exhausted. :confused3

Dinoland feels like it was built on the surface of the sun. All concrete and no shade. I question the sanity of the person who designed it, truly.

Because it is extremely close to hell on earth.
