We Californians just don't do well in humidity and heat. I've been there in June (2002) and it was 95 and humid and crazy rainy every day. Just wondering what early May is like, as that seems like a possible time for us to get there. Is it just as warm and humid as June? I'm sure crowds will be smaller, but not sure what my family can take as far as temps.

Thanks for the help! Sure would like to go back "home".

I lived in California for many years and lost my tolerance for humidity. I think you will still find May to be humid (though obviously weather varies from year to year), but maybe a few degrees cooler than June -- especially if you went late June.

I'm a deep south girl that has never even 'had' a tolerance for heat and humidity!! :)
We don't go to Disney in the summer! We went first week of May this year, and yes, it was hot and humid, but not nearly as bad as the summer months. That's about as late in the year that we'll go.
Not sure what CA is like, but assume from what you said that May will not be as nice, but you should be able to tolerate it!
Just be aware, it can be rainy. This year it wasn't, but they were in an exceptionally dry period.

We have been in early-mid May a few times in the past five or six years. It's uncomfortable, especially for the first day or two as you acclimate, but not unbearable. We take water misters and cooling towels and stay in the shade and do okay.

We visited during the second week of May one year, and it was way too hot for me (and we live in South Carolina!). The further we drove toward Florida, the more intense the sun seemed to get. The temps that week were in the mid-90s, and while the full humidity of summer hadn't kicked in yet, it was still bad enough that I will never go again in May.

We often go in May - were there for 18 days this past May. Weather varied. The first week of our trip saw warm days with temps dropping to about 60 degrees at night and low humidity. The rest of our trip saw temps dropping only into the upper 60s, lower 70s at night and very high humidity. Highs throughout the trip were in the mid-80s, but the more humid days felt much hotter.

It is a mix of hot and hot/humid. We go every May for a week the past few years. Not too bad, but it is still in the 90's.

We did a late May trip a couple of years ago and found it to be almost as oppressively hot and humid as our August trips--especially the humidity.

That's the standard time we visit. I'm from Houston. So, I'm familiar with swampy humidity. And yes, May is still hot and humid, even to me. April (after spring break) would be a bit better humidity-wise, if you can swing it. Just drink water and use a Touring plan to keep you from standing in the hot sun a lot playing the "what do you want to do next?" game.

I am from California but have been to WDW 15 times now, half of the trips in May. Many of them, including this last May the days were in the high 80's to the mid 90's and it can be tough particularly in the humidity. As I get older it is harder to do long days at the parks when it is like that. A couple of my trips the temps were in the high 70's to the mid 80's and that was great. A couple time the temps were in the mid 80's the whole time. The nights were always nice though and I love that. You should be prepared for possible a high heat.
