How hot is May?

Looking at week of May 20th right before school let's out. Do mornings and nights feel much more comfortable? We take afternoon breaks anyways. We have only been in August and February so have no idea what it's like compared to the two.

I have been numerous times in May. It can be in the mid 90's every day. It can vary between the high 70's and the mid 90's or it can be in the 70's and 80's. To me it has mostly been hot. But yes, the mornings and evenings are better than mid summer.

Thanks! We were supposed to go in mid April but now are thinking of combing trips to save us some driving!

I have always enjoyed my May trips even if it does get hot. :) Hopefully you get a bit milder May.

I've done May several times and it ranged from pretty mild, warm, and pleasant to scorching, dripping sweat heat - but not like summertime humidity for sure. Fun trips!

May is hot but it's not like August. It's usually high 80s/low 90s but it's typically not as humid as August. Rain is not as frequent as later in the summer but a pop up shower is possible. It's enjoyable with the right touring plans.

It can get pretty warm in April as well. Just not as humid as mid-summer. I found April to be good, however, I usually went in late February which was perfect weather wise. I have gone in other times as well, so what was said previously, holds true. Going in May will probably never be chilly though. Florida weather is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get, however, in May there is a good chance that most of the chocolate will be melted. My thanks go out to Forrest for that statement.

We were in Orlando last end of May and beginning of June last year and yes it was hot but not actually as hot as I thought it would be. We also had almost zero rain which was a surprise (one late afternoon a storm came through out of 10 days). I think with afternoon breaks it'd be fine.

Following… We have a trip planned for the last 2 weeks of May. Some of my family is worried about the heat but we have mid-day breaks planned each day so I think it will be ok!

May will be better than June/July/August, and it should be marginally cooler with cooler mornings and evenings. That might only be a degree or two but will feel like more. Summer is brutal.

But as other posters have said, it can vary. I’m a local - <20 mins to the parks and lived here for a while. Expect it to be hot mid-day, and a possible shower and you can plan around it. If you get cooler weather that will be a nice bonus!

Our family is nervous too which is making me nervous! We always do mid day breaks anyway so I am hoping it would be okay

May is going to vary, but that late in the month I would say it’s going to be high 80s. Nights may go down to about 70 but it will be warm

We did late April into early May back in 2017 and it was much hotter than my trip in mid June in 2012. In mid June 2012 I wore cropped/capri style pants every day and barely noticed the heat but that 2017 was so hot that I had to go out and buy shorts since I hadn't brought enough with me. Given that our late November/early December 2022 trip was also very warm I'm beginning to think Orlando just doesn't get cold much anymore!
