I have kids who are on meds that make them sensitive to the sun and heat. We were going in December, but may have to change to October. How hot is it then? Is it really humid?

Thanks!

It is pretty hot in October. We went swimming every day and it had the kids playing in the water fountains in the parks to cool off last year and this was late Ocotber around Halloween.

Early Oct, in my experience, is about 90 during the day, cooling off to mid 70's at night. It's still very humid & the summer heat hasn't really "boken" yet. Later in Oct., the heat/humidity breaks & the weather is perfect (80's in the day, high 60's at night)

I posted in another of your threads, but you might check out this site it will give you the historical weather for October. I remember it being really hot last year the first week. Once you added in the heat index to the actual air temp that is(I hope that made sense!).

I love this site!!! :goodvibes

:rotfl: 99% chance of a HUMID day... and a 0% chance of a freezing day!! :rotfl2:

As I sit here in Chicago area, it feels like fall - low 70's, no humidity feel!! Almost chilly!! :teeth:

You'll be going on my birthweek!! :) Anyway, I'd say that it would be hot because it always is in the south during that time. A good rule of thumb is that in the south, the fall feels like 5-10 degrees below summer heat.

Hope that helps and have a good time!

We went in early Oct in 2003 and yes, it was quite hot. Pretty humid although it only rained once of the 6 or 7 days we were there. :sunny:

Ok. I think I'm going to keep our Dec dates and just look for a much cheaper room! Thank you all!~

We went to WDW the first week in October in 2003. We loved the MNSSHP.. but never again will we go back at that time. It was just way to hot still!! We went to the water park the day of the party.. it had to be near 90. Got to the party and it was still very hot and humid. I couldnt even dress my DS in his Tigger costume. I had poodle skirt on that had netting underneath and it was sticking to my legs the entire night. We were all so hot and sweaty .. AND IT WAS NIGHT! We kept waiting for the heat to break.. it has to get cooler when the sun goes down, RIGHT??? Nope. I walked out of the park at midnight with my bag full of candy and sweat still running down by back. It was way too hot for us. We are sticking to Thanksgiving and January. I just cant enjoy myself when its that hot and you are constantly sweating! Stick with December. At least the Christmas decorations are up 24/7. At Halloween, the only time you see the Halloween decorations is during the party. Its awesome to see the parks decked out for the holidays. ALso try the MVMCP! They make it snow on Main Street and its just beautiful!
