Ok.....we booked free dining beginning September 14th at CBR. Since we have been to the World quite a few times we don't need to go commando....just want to do our fave rides. We are not early risers so planning on doing the Extra Magic Hours. Soooo how hot are we talking in mid September....smokin' - broiling - brutal??? Is it so bad I'll hate it?

Depends on the humidity as well.

If your not used to this kind of weather then it might seem extremely hot to you. I come from Southern Texas so it will be no different for us back home but if you come from up north it will feel more like middle of august for you.

Vacation on the surface of the Sun HOT, with humidity that feels like a heavy wet blanket.

How hot it is depends on the weather (:rotfl: ) and your ability to deal with it. We're going for our 4th Sept trip so the heat clearly doesn't bother us enough to stop us. Last year, the week before we went was, apparently, beyond brutal. I thought our week was ok. It wasn't cool but I didn't melt either and only saw lovebugs twice at the Pop bus stop.

We don't do commando anymore either and also love late rather than early. I know where the heat-break attractions are in each park - think Ellen's Energy Adventure, American Adventure, Carousel of Progress, Hall of the Presidents, Finding Nemo - the Musical, It's Tough to Be a Bug. Now I'm not saying I don't love these (ok I sleep thru Ellen) but they're an extended break off my feet in the AC. A cool drink before or after and we're good to go again.

It's not as bad as July and August but still pretty hot to me -- and I'm from Arkansas and used to hot and humid. When we went at that time, it stormed/rained every afternoon from the heat.

You'll have fun because it's not as crowded as July and August. That combination of heat and crowds is not fun for me. :)

I'm guessing from your nick that you're from South Jersey. Imagine a miserably hot and humid day in the middle of August. The kind of day where there are brown outs and people are ugly and nasty because their window A/C unit died last night. The freeway is littered with dead cars that just couldn't take the heat, the humidity, and a traffic jam at the same time.

However, in Florida, everything is set up to deal with this weather. Yes, it's hot and yes, it can be brutal. But, there are air-conditioned stores to duck into between attractions, walk-thru fountains, frozen drink stands, shaded benches, etc. etc.

I think that Southern drawls were developed because it just takes too much energy to speak quickly when it's so hot. Take your lesson from that... take your time. Don't rush.

Ever had a long stretch in your town of 90s with 80-100% humidity? Expect that.

Lots of the ride lines are in the shade, or even inside with A/C. Lots of restaurants and stores have A/C. Lots of shaded places to sit. It really is doable.

We just skip the afternoons. We are at an A/C lunch around noon- 1ish and we don't hit the parks again til after dinner. We are staying onsite so have planned our trip around EMHs, as in, we are using ALL the EMHs available for our trip (both late and early). Others disagree with this plan for themselves but I'd rather wait in line 40 minutes at night than wait in line 20 minutes in the afternoon with the sun beating down.

I was there around that timeframe in 06 and 07. I didn't think it was so bad. 06 especially wasn't noticably awful. 07 was consistently hotter and still I didn't feel like death or anything. It was hot like the dog days of summer, but at least I was able to dress appropriately instead of sludging around city streets in 90+ temperatures and "business casual" clothing, LOL.

Mid September is very much like August in temperatures and humidity. Mornings are certainly better with somewhat cooler temps at that time as the summer fades. I do not know if I would call it brutal but it is close. It really does not start to cool down noticeably around the south until October and sometimes that is late October. Heck, I see you are from South Jersey. You southerners ought to be okay.

When we were there the week after Labor Day in 2006 I'm pretty sure my shoes melted to the pavement in front of the castle while watching Cinderellabration. If you look closely, you may still see the imprints!;)

To define hot is impossible when everyone has different tolerence levels. The first Aug we went I literally thought I was going to die from the heat. The second year seemed better and the third was no big deal. I think we got used to it and knew what to expect after the first visit. You are in and out of a/c so much it really isn't that big of a deal and sept is low season so you won't be in long lines like July. I expect heat in Florida so I would never go in the winter where I might need sweaters, pants etc...at least in the summer you know what you're getting and it's easy to pack for it.

Well I am from Virginia & two states down from NJ & it get hot a hades here. When lived in RI it was miserable during the summer, it was cooler in Virginia lol. But expect it to hot, rainy :goodvibes or both or nice.

As gross as this may sound lets just say "sweat dripping down your leg" HOT! Not hot enough to keep us away though....:car:

It's brutal hot, I mean freakin hot, it is awesome!!! It is so hot at the water parks your feet burn on the cement.......sure they have little sprinklers every 50 feet.....but its hot hot hot

WE LOVE IT!!! Cant wait for September!!

South Jersey mom,
Hi neighbor, if you can take Philly in the summer, you can survive Disney. We found the sun was stronger but there are a million ways to cool off. By September you'll be acclimated from all lthe 90+ days we have.

We don't do commando style touring either. The crowds will probably be lighter also. When we go in August, we do a major ride or two and then sneak into an air conditioned place. for example, we'll do space mtn and Haunted Mansion, then go to the hall of presidents. Do splash mtn & runaway rr then hit POTC to cool out.

Not just the heat and humidity but the sun is very strong down there. I burn in about 30 minutes in that sun, even with SPF 30 on.

We were there last year for free dining from Sept. 14 - 22. It was extremely HOT!!! Our first day at MK on Saturday, Sept. 15, the heat index was 108 degrees. The first three days we were there the temperatures broke records. The last five days heat let up slightly (didn't break anymore records), but it was still bad. The heat and crowds were more than we expected last year so we are going in December this year.
