With school children and work schedules, July looks like the only time when we can all go to WDW. Add to that, it's my birthday and I'd love to celebrate 40 minus 1 at the happiest place on earth.

So how hot will it be? How bad will the crowds be? :cool1:

I've survived Thanksgiving and the weekend after last time I went and the crowds weren't really a problem.

Just looking for insight..... :earsboy:

We always go in July so that should tell you something. Yes, it's hot. We survive just fine (with three small children) by getting to the park when it opens, leaving in the afternoon and coming back at night. The crowds were not that bad especially if you get there early and utilize fast pass. I also make sure we have the water/fan bottles and plenty of water to drink. We've never had a problem and love going in July., We'll be there this July also.

Hi! We were there last July 1-10, and it was HOT. There were crowds, esp. on the 4th, but I really felt like my planning paid off. We used the touring plans in the UOG and those really worked. We traveled with our 2 little ones and just made sure to take a break each day during the hottest parts of the day. We carried a CamelBak with us for water and some misters, and that made it much better. Don't forget that shows and sit-down meals inside offer some escape from the heat! It really is hot, but we are back this summer again, so it wasn't THAT bad! Just make lots of plans for breaks and avoid the crowds using touring plans.

we were there two years ago (when they offered the 7 for 4 plan) in July. It was our first time in July and I figured I was going to HATE it. I really have no patience for humidity and being sweaty.
So I went in July (since the price was right) with the mind-set that it was definitely going to be hot - and I was definitely going to be sweaty. And it turned out to be really not all that bad. A lot of the places you are going to be have shaded queue lines or are even air-conditioned. And a dip in the pool in the afternoon is quite refreshing. What really counts is that you're going as a family and it all works out. Prepare for the worst and it'll usually turn out to be better than you thought.

FYI - we also did Universal in late June/early July last year. Again - Hot. But we survived and had a really great time.

I'd like to say that I'll NEVER go in the summer again, but we'll be in WDW in May this year. With school schedules, it's about the only time we can go now. After DS14 graduates and is off on his own, DH and I will be going any darn time of year we choose!

I've never been in July but we always go in May and even then it is really hot. For the past two years it has always been in the 90's. I'm from Chicago so anything above 80 is very hot to me. If you like the heat and high humidity July would be the month to go. :sunny:
