How hot in August?

How's the weather on the Western in August? Hurricane possibilities aside, is it unbearably hot and humid or is it reasonable? The average temps in August on weather.com don't look too awful, but a bit of extra humidity can really ratchet up the heat quotient!

We're booked for Nov 06 and I'm debating moving to August to avoid missing school.

The weather only changes about 5 degrees. The humidity stays about the same. You can go to weather web sites and check out the yearly averages, but don't change much.

We went the first week in August in 2003. We had great weather. It was hot but not unbearable. We really enjoyed cruising during this time because we didn't have to take the kids out of school.

We cruise in Sept every year and it is hot! When we pulled into Costa Maya it was like the surface of the sun. The heat doesn't bother us to bad but I can remember certain times/ports when it is unbelievable. The cruise director even commented once but most times on the ship there is a breeze and it is no big deal. One thing to consider and people may disagree with me, but if you get a balcony, it is almost to hot to use it. It may depend on which side of the ship you are on but we hardly could stand to be on it (we had a 8x10 foot balcony on Princess...maybe the smaller ones are better shaded/protected. I would just check into this before paying for one. We use ours much more in Nov. JMHO

Don't let the heat stop you though. I remember it as moments not as a trip (if that makes any sense).

We went last August and it was pretty hot. But whenever we went on an island we went swimming and you can go swimming in the pools and all teh rooms are air conditioned so it really isnt that bad. Even if it gets really hot and humid you will still have a blast.
