Trying to figure on what to pack. Last year we went first week of December and had to pack summer and some clothes to keep warm. Glad we did, it was quite cold a couple of evenings.

I am figuring that most days will be in the high 70's to 80's. Is this about right? But how cool does it get in the evenings? Will sweatshirts or very light jackets be all that is needed, if at all?

We have two small children, so I always want to be best prepared. Thanks in advance for any replys.

We go almost every Oct.I bring a raincoat type jacket for us as well as ponchos.I always have a sweatshirt for each of us too.

The weather is usually quite pleasant, meaning lower humidity, but one year,I think it was 2001 it was chilly. For a couple days we wore light jackets or sweatshirts over our "summer clothes" to the parks that year. That was very unusual though.

We went early October last year and it didn't rain once. I was told it was 'cooler' in Florida, being from Seattle, that means warmer clothes! We about melted!! The humidity about did us in.

From one Pittsburgher to another we were there last October and it was quite HOT and HUMID. Usually the weather is LOW Humidity and average around the 80's. My DH don't take Hot weather quite well so that's why Oct. is one of the month's we go plus the fact that the F&W is going on. :yay:

I went in early October in 2003, it was pretty hot, I'd say high 80's. I think we had a little bit of rain, nothing major. Of course, that is hurricane season, so anything could happen.

Here's an historical weather site:

Last year between October 1 and 10, highs were 84 to 91.

We've gone twice in October - brought our rain jackets along both times but never used them.

We wore shorts & t-shirts the entire trip.

We went from October 3-10 last year and the weather was a lot more humid than I expected. I think it was mid-to-upper 80's most days, with hit and miss showers. We seemed to just miss many of the showers, though, coming in and out of the rides and shows. We just brought our ponchos/umbrellas and had a great time!

We were at WDW between Sept 28 and Oct 9, 2006. It was wonderful and we saw no rain.

in early October? Early October is HOT (think 90+ degrees) and sometimes rainy... I can't imagine you'll need a sweatshirt, unless you get chilled in a restaurant or something!

We went in early October in 2004, and it was beautiful. It was cooler, and barely humid. It only rained one day out of six. It was about 2 weeks after the 4th hurricane had blown through...I was surprised it was so nice! You might bring a parka just in case, but chances are you won't use it much. :sunny:

Welcome back from the future! Could I trouble you to go see what the weather is going to be like September 1 - 4 this year? ;) j/k Couldn't resist.....

Anyways, we have gone the past two years in October and it's been relatively good weather. Last year was a bit more humid I believe and we got hit by some showers but nothing like a washout or anything.

Thanks everyone for sharing, especially the cool, or should I say, "hot" weather websites. I guess it will be a little hotter and humid than I thought. Will pack and dress accordingly.

Sorry! Make that 2004. While I will not be checking out the weather for Sept 1-4 of this year, I will watch the middle of the month very closely. We will be on the Magic Sept 16-23, 2006 for a Double Dip Cruise. We are keeping our fingers crossed for a light hurricane season.
