How horrible is spring break

We were there the two weeks prior to Easter. It was busy!! Crowds were definitely present. Three nights after Wishes the MK had to open the "mouse holes - passages behind the stores on Main Street to exit). We were lucky because we got to use them.

I was there for almost a week starting March 19. It was plenty busy, but nothing horrible. I did run into a very busy day at Magic Kingdom that wasn't projected to be especially busy, but I suspect that was because the previous day, which was supposed to be busy at MK, was rainy for the early part of it. I did see a 120 minute wait at 7DMT.

I would agree that you should try to avoid the week before and after Easter, if you can. I think its late March next year. Those two weeks you'll have pretty consistent 9 and 10 level crowds every day.

If you do your homework and book your FP+'s (I was able to get everything I wanted about 30 days out), you'll have a good trip. And the weather is usually really nice!

Just back from our first Spring Break trip and it was great. That said it took planning, patience, and a relaxed attitude. We made our ADR's well in advance, booked our fast passes and adjusted times to what we figured would be optimal (did a lot of DIS research on that one!), and didn't stress about anything we might miss. We got to the parks every day at "rope drop" and generally left early afternoon when the crowds and wait times began to climb dramatically. We watched the wait times on MDE which we found were fairly accurate ... not perfect ... but close enough to make an informed decision. It was hot but mornings were comfortable and evenings were for the most part delightful. We would do Spring Break again ... maybe next year!
