Curious...got to thinking about this last night, cause mine is pretty full...how full are other peoples?

Here's my schedule:

5:30 - Up
6:15 - Out the door, takes me about 15 minutes to get to work. Since it's so early, the traffic is usually light.
6:45 - Arrive at work, start planning/working on other things that need to be done before the kids arrive.
7:40 - Students arrive! It's all a blur until lunch at 10:30!
2:15 - Students leave
2:15-4:00 - More planning, preparation. I normally get out of there by 4, but sometimes it's a little later.
4:00 - Trip home, takes about 25 min. in the afternoon due to traffic.
4:30-9pm - Make dinner, try to exersize (if any energy is left over), shower, and just plain relax. And of course, some household chores.
By 9pm, I'm beat and ready to call it a day!

Having not kids (yet!) makes it a little easier!

I think my day is fairly hectic, but in a controlled, I know what to expect kind of way. Very curious to see how others compare.

My day sounds as hectic as yours. I have been hired to be the long term sub/teacher for a Language arts class for the rest of the year. (I've been in there already since Sept 12). But at the semester they threw two Social Studies classes at me so another teacher could have all Language arts so my day looks like this:

6:00 get up
7:00 arrive at school
7:40 1st hour starts (7th grade LA)
8:30 6th grade SS
9:25 6th grade SS (different class)
10:30 7th grade LA
11:20 to 11:55 My lunch
12:00 7th grade LA
12:45 My Prep time (Start grading many papers)
1:30 7th grade LA
2:30 to 4:00 Hang out at school planning lessons and running off papers
4:00 to 5:00 Go home and make dinner. Visit with HS son
6:00 to 8:00 Grades papers and DIS WHEN my Net is working.
8:00 to 10:00 Relax, watch TV, read or go to bed early.

well mine varies a lot depending on how much work is sitting on my desk.

Right now

6 Am get up, shower get ready etc
6-7 AM while coffee is brewing clean up whatever needs to be done in kitchen and around there, check business email and drink as much coffee as possible before the kids wake up.
7 Am Get kids up and get ready for the day. Morning chores. Work while they are getting ready
8:30 get kids to school, drive carpool
9 AM- 10 Am gym time
10-12 free time, shopping, cleaning, visiting with friends, meetings, depending on work load come home and work some more
12-3:30 WORK
3:45 kids get home and I start the dinner/evening routine
5 PM dinner
now depending on the night we have cheer/basketball/church right after dinner

hopefully kids are in bed by 8. Lights out by 9

I either play or work or read until about 10:45 until the monologue is over then its bedtime

that is my routine right now.

Depends on the day. On Wednesdays, I am at work from 830am or so until 9pm or later. That makes for a loooooooooooong day. On other days, I usually put in 8-9 hours in the office and then a few hours at home or out running errands for work. Some weeks, I work 9-5 or 6 and then have dinner meetings until 9 or later. I usually have time to run by my house and play with my dogs those nights, though.

Course I usually work Saturday and always on Sundays, depending upon the activities at hand.

I really don't mind, though. My work is varied enough that it keeps things exciting and I'm not stuck in a cublicle all day or anything. I come and go and do things at the office and away from the office. And attend LOTS of meetings, a few of which are actually fun.

This morning when I finally got myself off to work I was ready to cry. Some mornings are just so bad. I was up 3 times last night witha fussy baby too.

6:45 - Up shower and get ready
7:30 - Get the kids up and prepare lunches etc.
7:55 Get all the stuff in the car (stuff for me to bring to work, files, diaper bag etc)
8:00 - Drop kids off at school and daycare (the school is right across the street)
8:20 - I arrive at work and prep until 9:15
9:15 - Crazy until lunch
1:30 to 2 - Lunch if I have time
3:15 - prep work
4:00 - My work day officially ends unless I need to work in my classroom (gee, I never have to do that) then I stay until I get done
5:00 - Pick up kids if dh hasn't
5:05 - Cook dinner while helping with homework and giving the baby a snack
6:00 - Bath time
7:00 - Baby to bed
8:00 - Madison to bed
8:00 to ??? - Lesson plans, paperwork, chores, laundry, pay bills
I usually get o bed around 11.

Gesh, I'm tired just typing that.

I'm jealous of all of you who get to sleep into the 6:00 a.m. hour. That would be sooooo luxurious to me. Aaaahhhhh....

I like this thread. It's good to see that I'm not the only one running around.
M-F are like this (if I'm not travelling for work)

5:30AM wake up, let the dog out, start coffee or tea, do a load of laundry
6-7AM workout
7-730AM check local paper online, check DIS (sometimes)
730-get in the shower
8-leave the house
830-get to work hook up laptop and have a bowl of oatmeal (or something similar)
12-sometimes I have time to go out for lunch and sometimes I don't
5pm-leave work
5:30PM get home
Do dishes
after that it could be dinner, hockey, girl scouts, baseball, softball (if in season) or whatever. It usually involves taking care of some laundry through out the week also.
I try to make time for 3 1 hour TV programs if time (one Monday, one Tuesday and one on Friday).

Here was mine today - most of these are routine, in onr form or another, except that the volunteering is only once weekly, and I usually take the first crying student with me to tutoring since her parents don't have a car. I couldn't today, b/c she went home crying & I had a meeting anyway. But the 2 crises mentioned here are non-stop - either it's a parent abusing a child, or a parent abusing me or one of my teammates, or a child getting sick, or getting into a fight, or being teased, or having a rumor spread the she is pregnant. Aaargh! I wouldn't take all the money in the world to be 12 years old again. Who wrote that thread bashing teachers? Jump into my life!

5:20 am: Get up, get dressed, take care of the dogs
5:55 am: Leave home & drive to work (school)
6:25 am: Arrive at school & start planning or grading papers
7:25 am: Kids arrive & school begins
7:30 am: 8 students arrive, and I distribute papers to them so they can sell the school newspaper during homeroom (I'm the newspaper advisor)
7:45 am: 1st period begins
7:50 am: Find a good student translator and discretely send crying student to counselor - her friend who had been routinely raped by her stepfather just committed suicide. Continue class.
8:50 am: 2nd period begins
9:50 am: 2nd period ends. I go to meet with the resource officer about the crying student, who has evidence about the dead girl's stepfather, to try to find out whether she needs to meet with him, and if so, to arrange a translator, because the child speaks 10 words of English.
10:15 am: Begin reading a textbook that my principal has assigned to us for our bi-monthly staff discussion groups. Grade papers when finished reading.
11:00 am: Go speak to another teacher who yelled at one of my students without bothering to find out the situation first.
11:15 am: Heat up lunch
11:25 am: Students arrive & 5th period begins
11:40 am: Student knocks on my door, to pick up papers to sell during lunch.
11:45 am: Take students to the bathroom
11:47 am: Take students to lunch
12:07 pm: Stop students from making a mess with their unused food & causing the girls to squeal
12:10 pm: Return to 5th period
1:00 pm: 6th period begins
1:10 pm: One of my students hands me her mother's e-mail address; we had made a deal that if she could get her work turned in by today, I wouldn't squeal on her to her parents, and she didn't get it turned in, so she's holding up her end of the bargain by giving me mom's e-mail.
1:35 pm: Send crying student out of class to get some privacy & freshen up; she is feeling sick, but her parents don't want to pick her up, so they are leaving her in class feeling miserable
2:00 pm: 6th period ends
2:15 pm: Teacher discussion group meets to discuss assigned reading & its relevancy to school improvement
3:15 pm: Teacher discussion group ends
3:30 pm: Leave school & drive to Hispanic Learning Center, to tutor students
5:30 pm: Leave Hispanic Learning Center & drive home.
6:15 pm: Arrive home, walk dogs, & start dinner
6:30 pm: Take laundry to laundromat
7:00 pm: Change laundry in laundromat to dryer
8:00 pm: Pick up laundry from laundromat. Serve dinner to husband. Discuss our day & watch TV.
8:40 pm: Play on the computer while my husband does homework :)
9:00 pm: Walk dogs again
9:10 pm: Pack lunches for me & husband, then take shower
Asleep by 10:00

6:30 Wake up call
6:40 Actually get up
7:15 Bus
8:00-2:00 School
2:30-3:30 Chill time
3:30-6 or 6:30 Homework

5:13--train ride home. Since this train has less stops, the commute is only 45 minutes
6:00--off the train. walk home. Sometimes, I'll go to the grocery store on the way home.

VERY HECTIC!

It's to hard for me to list everything by times - but this is a typical day for me.

First of all - I have 6 kids & 2 dogs, so I'm up at around 5:30ish to let the dogs out and throw some laundry in while the kids are still sleeping.

Once the kids are up I make breakfast.

By 7:45 my 15 yr. old has to be at football camp.

Usually do errans while he is at camp until 12:00 - than I pick him up.

I do my Give 2 The Troops work from 12:00 until 4:00 which includes writing thank you letters, packing up 65lb boxes to send over to the Troops in Iraq. Get fundraisers together, interviewing other potential branch directors etc.

Start dinner around 4:00

Take my 15 yr. old back to football camp (he has 2 sessions a day. One from 8:00 till 12:00 the next 5:00 till 8:00.

Take my youngest to his football practice @ 6:00 till 7:30 and just in time for me to leave to pick up my 15 yr. old.

Through some taxi driving of my other kids to and from friends houses and there you have my day. Right now is a bit more hectic than usual because my father in law is battling cancer and is the hospital so I've been sitting at the hospital with him for a few hours a day.

After football - I come home to chill out on the computer and usually go upstairs to read for a while. My husband works from 7:00 a.m till about 6:30 - so most of this I do myself.

This is my summer schedule which is light - once school starts and all the other activities, I can't even remember my name anymore! LOL!

I'd much rather have a hectic day then a day like I have usually. And please don't hate me.

9:00 am: wake up & eat breakfast, read the paper and look for a job
10:30 am: work out for about an hour
Noon: eat lunch
5:00 pm: eat dinner
6:00 pm: go see my boyfriend
11:00 pm: go to bed

Sometimes I have a doctor's apt, and then I don't work out. But GOD IT SUCKS NOT HAVING ANYTHING TO DO! And I am really seriously complaining! I wish I could find a job! (Well, I have one, but it doesn't start until September.)

Everyday I complain to my boyfriend about how boring it is not having anything to do. Today, I came over to his apartment and cleaned it! I like cleaning though.
