How Have DVC Member Day Been Lately? We went to one a few years ago and it was ok. Has anyone been to one lately? What was it like and did they give away free gifts? Are they still Wednesday's at 4:00pm at the Dance Hall?

I would like to know the answer to this myself....we are going in May and this will be our first time going as DVC members. I have read about this on the MS site and thought how cool it sounded. Even better is that we are staying at BCV so we will be a hop, skip, and jump away from the Dance Hall (if it is even still held there).

I think they call it "Welcome Home Wednesdays," so the title of your thread might have confused people.

It's now held at 2:00 at Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk.

That's all I know. Haven't been yet.

We went last year for the second time, and the consensus in our group was that it is only fun if you win something.

They made a big deal on the way in that ONLY people 18 and up were eligible for prize drawings, so we didn't let DS14 fill out a card. A family across the room proceeded to win about 4 different things, claimed by kids who were teens but in no way looked 18 and over. If they announce an age stipulation it needs to be enforced. You have to show your blue DVC member card on the way in, but they don't ask for photo ID so the kids didn't have to prove they were 18.

If you are already pretty diligent about staying up to date on DVC happenings it is likely you won't hear anything new. We did get DVC logo baseball caps and a free D23 magazine, and there was lemonade and popcorn. I guess if we found ourselves in the area with nothing else to do we might go again, but we wouldn't make a special effort.

We went last year for the first time. It was fun, but we probably won't do it again. Glad we did it once.
