How hard will it be with a newborn ??

Anyone have any advice ? Tips on what to bring ? Type of stroller ?

Great thing about taking a tiny baby, they are so portable!!! They can't argue, throw a tantrum, talk back and they have no opinions on what they want to do!

My biggest suggestion is to get a good sling/baby carrier! Priceless for me when traveling with a small baby.

I took my son when he was 10 months this year. I can tell you this, it is much easier than a toddler. As stated above, babies are so portable. It will be a breeze. Make sure you ask for a room with a fridge. That way you can keep formula ready at all times. I brought my travel system... You can bring your travel system with you to the plane. I bought a 14 dollar baby seat carrier and then I knew for sure that I would have both when I got to Disney. I know I am a freak but I was scared that you get there and what if the airline loses the babyseat? Anyway, that's why I brought the travel system. I also rented a car so that when I got there I could go directly to Walmart and get diapers, formula, wipes etc. and that way I didn't have to drag them with me. As I remember things, I will let you know.

Babies are easy at Disney because they don't do much yet. I'd bring whatever stroller they are already using at home since the baby will most likely spend the bulk of their time in it.

We've stayed at CBR a number of times and always enjoyed it. The closer you are to the main house with the food court, the better. Its a very quiet and relaxing resort IMO. Have a great time!

So easy to do Disney with a 4 month old! My daughter was 4 months when we spent a week there for my sister's wedding. I used our Graco stroller that laid all the way flat so she could nap comfortably. Though most times when she was sleeping, I carried her in my sling and she slept in there. I highly recommend a sling/carrier. I even kept her in the sling on some rides. We were driving, so we brought our own portable crib. Disney has pack and plays, but I wanted to use mine since I have the bassinet insert.

The baby care centers are great if you need them. I was/am breastfeeding, so I typically nurse whereever, but if you need or want somewhere quite and private, the baby care centers have rooms. Plus they have any baby supplies (diapers, wipes) that you may run out of. They also sell formula and bottles if you need it.

This, we did Disney with DS when he was 5 months old and will be going back when his sister is 7 months old (maybe when she is 6 months old as well). They are really easy at that age.

The baby care centers are really nice as well, and they have a great quiet area for nursing if needed, which came in handy when DS was distracted but needed to eat or needed to cool down.

Like others have mentoned, travelling with a baby is much easier than travelling with a toddler.

However, last time I stayed at CBR, there were no elevators in our building. I don't know if it is that way in all the buildings or not. I would suggest asking for a 1st floor room. Hauling a stroller and a baby and all that stuff up and down the stairs doesn't sound like fun to me.

Are 4 month old babies really considered newborns now? Or is it just that the baby is a newborn now?

As everyone else has already posted, a 4 month old baby is pretty portable - I'd encourage them to bring their own stroller, as the WDW ones are not made for babies. Also remind them to keep the baby covered up, as even in January the sun can still cause burns. Keep the baby hydrated and dry, and they'll have a great time!

We took our DD this past Jan. when she was 3 1/2 months old and she was great. We stayed at POP and took her stroller from home as well as a baby sling. She slept a lot and went with the flow. She enjoyed the shows and even rode rides. I used the baby centers (when we were near them) and they were great. Babies are wonderful at Disney!

This is really good to hear!! DD and I go to WDW a lot and we have found out that she is 7 wks now. I won't be getting us APs this coming year since we won't go when she is uncomfortably large, but we do want to go several times including for MNSSHP after the baby gets here in July. I've been giving her a hard time about it though.... I told her we had to wait until the baby was atleast a couple weeks old before we take it to WDW!!! Her eyes were huge!!! So we've planned that if it's a girl, we can get BBB and dine with Cinderella, have tea, etc and if it's a boy, we can do the whole pirate thing!! I'm not excited......

We went with a 4 month old and it was pretty easy. I think we had more luggage due to her gear, diapers, etc but she rode in the stroller, sling or bjorn and was very content to just look around and take everything in. She also sparked a lot of conversations as she'd stare at people and smile--such the flirt.

I was breastfeeding (and not very coordinated about doing so in public discreetly) so I was always looking for an out of the way bench, ducking into the baby care center or feeding her in dark shows (I'd sit in the back row of 3-D movies, etc and feed her).

Having a baby along made us slow down a bit I think (although in addition to the baby we had a 3 year old and a grandma on a ECV so who knows what really slowed us down). But slowing down was not a bad thing in my opinion.

My hubby refused to lug the whole travel system stroller along, so we made the Joovy Caboose work (I added an infant head pillow to baby was more comfortable). In hindsight I think an umbrella stroller would have worked better--made a comfy little sling type seat for her.

I did have one moment where I second guessed our decision to bring a baby baby along. I was carrying her in a mob of people waiting for Spectro to start. I got a little scared because it was just jam packed and I felt like this was the sort of crowd that someone could get trampled in (seriously--people were getting pushy and I was just stuck in the middle, in front of the castle). But now I know to be more aware/avoid those situations better.

A couple of the restaurants have infant highchairs. Crystal Palace does for sure because we used one there. Generally, one of us just held the baby while we ate. Often, I'd keep her in the sling so I could eat with both hands. Though as a mom, you get used to doing things one-handed!

Most 4 mos old babies are not sitting independently so really are not sturdy enough to sit well in a high chair. But, you can usually bring your stroller in with you so baby could just sit in the stroller. Or if you have a sling baby could stay in the sling.

We went to DLR when DS (now 17 months) was 9 weeks old. I ditto having a sling/carrier for the baby. We had him in his carseat attached to the Sit and Stand stroller much of the time, but I would say that most of the time he was on me. He went on all rides with us (well, not the "big" rides, but you know what I mean). It was super easy w/ a baby- at that age they just sleep when they are tired, no need to pack up and leave the park. Feeding is a breeze- they aren't on solids yet, just sit down and feed them. I would just let my DS/DH hit a ride while I sat outside and nursed while I waited--- usually among other mommies doing the same thing . The baby care centers there were great too.

We had a rental car with us for that trip because we were visiting in S. Cal. before and after our time @ DLR, so we were able to bring things with us pretty easily. This upcoming trip to WDW we are sending a box to the resort ahead of time w/ snacks, sunscreen, sippys, and diapers, etc.

My DD will be just over 4 months when we go in February.

We're renting a stroller from Orlando Stroller Rentals -- it's a Baby Jogger City Mini.

We FF, and use Enfamil, so we will be packing their new formula that comes in those little sleeves like the drink mixes. Each packet makes 4 ounces, so paired with a case of water we're going to have shipped to the resort, it should be pretty easy to feed her on the go.

I also picked up a used Babyhawk Mei Tai wrap which I plan to use in combo with the stroller. I may or may not pick up another, easier to use sling/wrap, but we'll see.

We looked at ordering diapers/wipes etc. and having them delivered via Garden Grocer, or one of those other delivery services. It seems like the prices are OKAY, but for what we'd need, we're probably going to bring it with us, or ship it from home ahead of time.

I'm feeling much better after finding\reading this thread.

My wife and I just booked a trip, staying at CSR, for next June. Our DD is 6, been to the World a few times now, but our son, will only be 8 months old. I've been very nervous about this, but we REALLY wanted to get another trip in while everything is still very "real" for our daughter, and before our son hits the terrible two's, LOL.

I was a bit concerned about an 8 month old, but after reading some of these posts, and a few others I have found, I'm feeling pretty good about it! Now, if the next 6 months could just go by in the blink of an eye, I'd be even better!

I say have both available. I ended up using the sling more- but the stroller/babycarrier was nice if the baby was asleep and I wanted to jump on a ride that I couldn't take the baby on. It was also unseasonably hot, so it was nice to have a bit of a break from wearing him every now and then.
