How hard to get Thanksgiving week at 7m's?

My brother and I own at different resorts (me SSR/BLT, brother AKV).

Was thinking splitting pts cost and taking whole family (sister's family & parents) away next year, possibly week of thanksgiving (sis is teacher so trying to plan around school). Since there will be 14 of us, we can not do a GV. Would probably do 4 rooms, one for each family. Would love to get it so we all are at the same resort but since we both own at different resorts we couldn't do it until 7month mark.

What are the olds of getting rooms saturday before to saturday after thanksgiving (not this year though).

You could try transfering points to one account, the points are 'supposed to' retain the home resort, but from reports here on The DIS, that doesn't often happen.

Thanksgiving is a VERY popular time for DVC. Good luck and have a great trip.

You can each book 2 rooms at your home resorts at 11m and then try at 7m to switch and get them at the same resort. That way you know for sure you'll all have rooms for the dates you want and I'd think it would be easier to book 2 rooms at 7ms then waiting and booking 4 rooms. Best bet is to call at exactly the 7m mark as soon as MS opens. Good luck!

I think you have a shot for all of those resorts at 7 months, but you'll need to call as soon as MS opens on the day your 7 month window opens. Thanksgiving week is popular.

Book all 4 at 11 months and then at 7 months see what is available. SSR is your best best since it's the largest, but the others are possible. Wouoldn't count on MK or SV at BLT at 7 months, but since it's all one building, it won't be such a big deal if the rooms are assigned close to each other. Same thing for AKV if you can all rooms in Kidani or Jambo.

P.S. I believe the conputer "glitch" that allowed transferred points to take on the home resort of the destination account has been fixed. Don't plan on that.
