Wanting to get an ADR for Crystal Palace on a Sunday morning, first seating on August 23. Want to get a couple of pictures with the park empty. Think I'll have a problem if I call on my 90 day mark?

Hi,

No one here can answer that question with any certainty. It is a hard one to get, but if you call on your 90th day that's all you can do. Good luck!

I doubt getting a Crystal Palace breakfast ADR will be hard at the 90-day mark. Getting the very first time might not be as possible, but I'll bet you can still get one early enough to justify being one of the first ones in the park.

My 90 day was yesterday. I needed a late breakfast time for Crystal Palace (we're going on an EMH morning and don't want to miss out on that first hour or 2 of park time).... I was shocked at how little was available. We did end up getting one, but not at the time I wanted. The CM who I talked to told me Crystal Palace has seemed to be increasing in popularity lately. There were openings, but I just had to adjust my expectations with regard to times. Maybe for you if you have more than 1 MK day, being open to the other day too might work. It may have just been me who had a problem though!

Its because its an EMH morning. The parks will be busy that morning and everyone wants Crystal Palace. If you try on a non-EMH morning, I bet you would have less trouble. I called (and not even on my 90 day mark, but maybe a week later) and had my choice of times on a non-EMH day.

Well, that's an interesting comment from a CM! Crystal Palace has always been a very popular restaurant and a tough ADR....

Interersting- wonder why people would waste a very valuable hour eating.

Could someone staying offsite make a reservation for Crstal Palace for a EMH?

We are looking for a later time-- maybe 2:30. (did that our last time and felt we had hogged the characters the whole time. Hardly anyone else was eating at that time

I've never had any trouble getting the 8:05am ADR for breakfast. One of my favorite things of any trip is walking up Main Street and having the whole castle to yourself. Well worth the early bus ride to the MK!!!!

A possible touring strategy is do do EMH and then the first hour and a half after opening, with a late-as-possible breakfast at CP. Between EMH and the light traffic in the park in the first couple of hours, you can get most of a full day's touring in in just over 2 hours, and possibly be holding a few fastpasses for later as well.

Plenty of time to enjoy a brunch-ish late breakfast, then head back out into the parks to hit the less crowded attractions, use fastpasses, and then maybe hop to a less crowded park.

(The same basic strategy would work at the other parks as well, with Tusker House (AK), Akerhaus (Epcot), and Hollywood & Vine (DHS).)

I was not able to get ANY breakfast adr for CP in June (MK a recommended park for that day, non-emh) and we called 91 days out (90+10 for our second day) first thing in the morning. It was maybe our third request as I prioritized it behind some other prime ADRs. We were only able to get dinner. I really wanted to get in the park early (and the cheaper breakfast price!), but I'm not too bummed because we love the dinner there and the kids can sleep in another hour. CP breakfast was the ONLY adr we wanted that we weren't able to get.

If you were only 90 + 1 when you called, people would have already been scheduling that date for 9 days. I have heard they realease more tables on the 90th day, so be sure to try again. You might have actually had a better chance at 90 than you did at 90 + 1. Does that make sense????

Thanks for all the ideas. If I can't get the very ADR for the 1st day, I have another MK day I can try for. Or take a later ADR, like 8:30 or so. Or, just do a on of the last breakfast seatings so we can do some of the park. On our 1st trip, we did CRT (in 2002) and I have awesome pictures of an almost empty park. Did PSB in 2006 and have great EPCOT photos of an empty park. I've also heard great reviews of CP and since DH wanted a breakfast this trip, I decided to go for the gold. Well, silver since Cindy's is probably gold. We're trying for 1900 Park Fair for Cinderella pics, so I decided not to even try for the castle breakfast this time. I've never done the free DDP and I'm trying to be prepared and make 1st, 2nd and even 3rd choices so I can call and get all my ADR's at one time and not have to worry about it anymore.

Thanks again!!!!

I tried everyday starting at the 90+10 and the earliest I was able to get was 8:20. We have done it everytime at the 8:05 and this is the first time we could not get it. We took the later one and I keep calling for earlier but so far no luck. I hope that it works for you.

I would just get to the park the same time you would if you had an 8:05 ADR. With an 8:20, they will let you into the park the same time as the 8:05's. Check in just as if you had the 8:05. I guarantee some of the 8:05 folks will be running a little late and they will seat you.

total agreement on that....

Good strategy. Even on vacation DH is very punctual. Gets everywhere 30 minutes early, so I'll remember the advice. I think for our CRT breakfast (at 8:30 am) they let us in at 8:10, plenty of time to get good pictures and still check in early.

I just received an email from our TA who made our ADR's this morning. We got everything we wanted (including Le Cellier) except we could not get dinner at CP at 90+6 days. I know it is a popular restaurant but I did not expect that to be the one we could not get. Oh well, our TA said she would keep trying so there is still hope.

Even on the 90th day out it's still luck of the "draw" or whose call they pick up first. On the 90th day prior to our last trip I was on the phone at 6:50AM EST, on hold, waiting for them to pick up the phones at 7:00AM. They picked up my call at 7:03AM and ALL TIMES WERE FILLED FOR THE ENTIRE DAY!!!! I was so disgusted I will not attempt to go to that character breakfast again. If I was Disney I would double the price to $69.99 and see if I could keep it filled every morning!

Maybe I missed this information, but how many are in your party that you are making reservations for?

We booked for mid/end August time last year on the 90 day mark (+10) and had no problems with any of my ADR's including CP.

This year (going in 2 weeks) going to CP on EMH morning and again booked CP at the time I wanted (prefer a late sitting personally so we can maximise the rides first thing)
