Hi All,

We are looking into buying DVC and interested in AKL because of the allowance of 5 in a 1 bedroom. I was planning on buying enough points to use a Standard 1BD, but not enough for a Savannah view. Do you think I will have trouble getting this if AKL is my home resort?

Thanks!

Once Kidani opens in June and if you plan 8-11 months in advance, you should not have to worry about getting a standard 1BR at AKV. I think that savanna view rooms have the most availability, followed by standard, value and concierge. I know there is a link here somewhere that shows the breakdown. I have heard a lot of people that say that they own at AKV because of the savanna view. There are others who prefer to conserve points and stay in a value villa (since you still have a 40% chance of a savanna view in the value category) and others who like the resort but don't care what is out their window.:rotfl:

I would assume that concierge books up first, then value, and then it's a toss up between savanna and standard. It's those wanting the view vs. those wanting to save points. If you own there, I would dare say that you will have no problem booking standard category rooms within your home resort booking window.

Good Luck! AKV is wonderful!

We do NOT own at AKL. I booked a one bedroom savannah view for June 2009 at the 6 month window without any problems....
Not sure if this is typical or not as we have never stayed there but we are happy to try it out.

The value 1 bedrooms will not have a sleeper chair and will accomodate 4.
