How hard to book BCV at 7 months in "slow" times?

We only travel to WDW during slower seasons, like Sept/Oct (I know Oct is F&W) and May. How hard is it to book at BCV like a 1BR during those times? We want to do an add-on and there are some good prices on SSR and OKW resale contracts, but we already own at OKW and wanted to have the option of staying at BCV once in a while so I wanted to see how hard it would be to book if we didn't have the 11 month advantage?

I don't know about the "slow times" you stated, but we didn't have any problem booking a studio at BCV at the 7 month mark for late July 2007 or 2008.

Hard to say for sure but it seems like there's a new thread with a title nearly identical to yours posted a couple of times a week.

I found it near impossible, so I bought there. I had a sept week, one bedroom at BCV, that I needed to change the week to a different week, I had to use the points, they had been banked and were going to expire on Sept 30th. I had to waitlist the later weeks in Sept... in March, now this is at 6 months, but I was shocked that Sept was sold out. My waitlist did come through, but it was 2 months later. Our niece had decided to get married and I had to use the week. It all worked out, but it was touchy for a while.

I would say that if you want BCV's then Buy BCV's. You will be able to get your reservation. I have not had a problem anytime I have called at the 11 month mark.

I guess I should just pay the premium to guarantee booking at BCV, even though it will only be every other year or so that we want to do so.

We added on at BCV last year. That was something I never thought we would do. We hadn't had any problems booking a studio for the times we wanted, but all of a sudden we have DGC and I want to know 11-10 months out where we'll be, and I wanted the 2Q's in the second bedroom for those times! Those BCV points only get used at BCV!

I was able to get a 1 bedroom at the 7 month window for this Oct 16th for 6 nights by booking day by day

slower time - does not mean DVC slower time.

food/wine festavial is very, very popular with DVC members. doesn't mean there won't be a cancelation. but on the whole don't bank on getting it during food/wine festavial.

now if you are talking earlier Sept - you have a good chance. just remember to get it at 7 months don't wait.

Jan or Feb might be a nice time to go to this resort. almost too cold (at times) to use that pool.

We were hoping to book a studio the first week of May at 7 months day by day. What are our chances at that time?

I would sure give it a chance. I would think if you are on the phone first thing, your chances may be good. Don't wait until the end of the day.

I think it's a crap shoot. I called at the end of May for June 13-15 (this weekend) and I was lucky.

It's just a luck of the draw because I had called a week earlier the room was available. I called a week later the room wasnt available. I called early the next morning (my third call---which was when I was really sure that we were going) and the room was all set.

I guess it was a last minute cancellation, but still it was my LUCK.:dance3:

I booked last October for May 2008 (5/4 to 5/9). I called day by day for a 2BR and did not have a problem. As someone posted earlier, call each day in the morning when MS opens and you shouldn't have a problem. May was great - the weather was fabulous and the crowds weren't bad. :thumbsup2

We've booked for September several times at the exact 7 month date, with no problem. In fact, we have a 1BR booked for this Sept.

We've also not had a problem getting the same on the wait list at busier times. However, we always have a Plan B! ;)

May has the flower/garden festavial going at Epcot - so it is iffy - but if you kept calling - you might get what you want.

the concerts during this time are better than during the fall - f/w

We usually get the 1 bedrooms at BCV. On one of our trips, I decided to add an extra day to our vacation and it was about 8-9 months ahead and I couldn't get it. The problem was that it was during the F&W festival which makes it very difficult to get anything at Epcot resorts.

However, I did find in my experience, that I can usually add a fri or sat night to the trip even after the 7 mth period as long as it's not during the months of October and November. I know this is not the peak season, but BCV is very popular during this festival.

We had gone in May also during the Flower and Garden festival, and I had no problem adding dates.

However, my experience is merely adding dates, not the whole vacation. I own at BCV so I will book at 11 months because I'm one of those neurotic people who think that if I don't call exactly 11 months in advance I won't get it.:lmao:

Three years ago we were able to get a 2br unit at BCV at the 7 month mark with no problem during the first week of December. I guess we got lucky.

Have been waiting for BCV studio on a waitlist since end of March for Sept11-14th. You just never know what will be available until you call. In March I was able to get a couple of nights in studio with two weeks notice at BVC for my daughter. The sad part is I own at BCV but did not have set dates until then so couldn't call at the 11 month time for the Sept dates.

It really is hit and miss. I was able to move the last 2 nights of a Sept. trip from AKV to BCV, in a studio. I'm going with a friend who has never stayed in either resort, but she has a relative who always stays at the BC and talks about how great it is. I changed resorts for these 2 nights soon after the 7 window opened. Don't know if I could have changed all of the days, I really wanted AKV savannah view, so only tried for the last 2.
