How hard is it to get into Jedi Training?

Jedi Training is what my son (6) wants to do more then anything I have told him about at Disney. I have read that you need to be there at rope drop and head back to it right away to sign up. If I am there at rope drop, is it pretty likely he will get signed up? We will be there is November, if that makes any kind of difference. I am so anxious that it will be full and he will be so disappointed.

Thanks for the help!

If you are not an onsite resort guest, don't attempt this on an EMH morning. Any other morning at rope drop he'll be able to sign up. Get to the park at least 30-40 minutes before the posted opening time whether you are an onsite or off-site guest.

I have the same concerns as you and we will be in HS this Monday. I can let you know my experiences after I get back. My nephew REALLY wants to do it (he's also 6). We have a 8:00 Hollywood and Vine ADR, so I am going to try to leave there a little early and head straight over to Jedi sign-ups. If you have any interest in H&V you might want to try this? I'll be sure to subscribe to this thread and let you know what happened with us after I get back. :)

To anyone else - I know everyone has said the sign ups are at the Sounds Dangerous building. Is there a sign or something that I will know that's where I need to go to sign him up?

There is a sign outside of the entrance to the building. It's located between the American Idol screen and the Jedi Stage/Star Tours/Backlot Express area.

Make sure you bring your nephew with you. The child must be present at sign up! You should be fine getting a slot if you are there at opening.

There will be sign, but it's not that big. Your biggest clue will be the others that are in a slight jog going left when you get let in....you're all going to the same place. I was there at RD and had no problems signing them up. We got the 2nd show if the day...it was one of the highlights of the trip!! Have fun :)

Yep the child has to be present to sign up! So it's not just you that has to leave breakfast early...it's you AND the child(ren) that want to participate.

I agree. We were well back in the RD crowd and walked to the sign up. That said, sign is somewhat smallish and I saw a lot of families running by toward where the actual training takes place before running back.

Thanks everyone, I did hear that my nephew has to be present and they'll ask him some questions. I will try to look for that sign. :)

Sorry kkcmom for taking over your thread. Hopefully these things should help you out, too. :)

In 2012, we were first at the turnstile for RD but got a bit turned around so were a few people in line by the time we got to sign ups. We did get into the first Jedi training of the day. If I remember correctly, there were CMs to help direct people. And make sure child is with you. It was so memorable - my kids really loved it. And want to do it again in August!

I'll be coming from Hollywood and Vine, so I am not sure if I'll be coming the same direction as everyone else. Do you know? Glad to hear I won't have to rush too much to get there. :) As long as he gets to do it some time during the day he'll be happy.

It will depend on your child midichlorian count....if it is high enough he may be accepted into the Jedi Academy.

The rope drop people will be heading past H&V to sign up for JTA so you will see them. From H&V, head left and circle around the lake.

Haha, I am assuming this is a Star Wars reference, but  I don't have a lot of Star Wars knowledge, so it went right over my head. :lmao:

I was gonna say you have to ditch the rest of the rebel fleet, make for the Dagobah system and seek Yoda. :yoda: But you had to go with the prequel scenario. :rolleyes2

I've never signed up for JTA on a non-SWW. Are the signups in a different place? During SWW we usually signed up outside of Indiana Jones.

Where is the normal place to sign up?

The regular day sign-ups are in the Sounds Dangerous building. Between the American Idol screen and the Jedi stage on your right-hand side. It's the location where the kids meet to get their robes before the session begins.

Oh good, I know exactly where that is! :cool1:
Thanks!

To the OP: If you arrive at RD and go directly there, you shouldn't have any problems signing up. We've signed up two years in a row at a very busy and crowded SWW and always managed to get the second show of the day with no problems.
