How Hard Is It To Get Fantasmic Balcony Seats?

Oh man Trey, your thread has really got me to thinking I gain want to try to get this! And I promise I will not do it on the night you guys have planned to go (thus taking up four seats and decreasing your odds)! Maybe I'll give that vacation planning thing a call since we are staying onsite.

We've done the Riverside seating 2 times (2005 & 2006 in summer) and had buffets both times. I wouldn't discount it - you're close to the action, good views, and the buffet/beverage service is very nice. As someone else said, I can't imagine the fireworks would be visible from the balcony - of course, they aren't great from the riverside seating, but you do get something.

Having said that, we're trying for balcony this time, just for something different. But if we end up back at riverside, that will be fine.

Thanks. Being able to see the fireworks from the Fantasmic area is not important to me. We will see them a different night from the hub.

We may do riverside as plan B, but the fact that the spot is off to the side makes it less attractive to me.

We'll hope for the best.

LOL, but tell everyone you know not to try for balcony on June 28! ;)

Do they have actual seats for regular Fantasmic? Last time we were at DL (many moons ago) we had to sit on cobblestones. WDW has an enormous seating area.

Yes and no. Unless you make a dessert reservation, then you have to stand or sit on the ground similar to a parade or fireworks. There are limited number of dessert reservation seats at about $60 per person.

I think WDW's outside Fantasmic theater holds something like 5000 people. DL's location there around the Rivers of America can handle 16000. While better seating at DL would be nice, I like the show a lot better at DL and would take DL's location without seats over WDW's with seats. Just my opinion.

Where is the riverside seating located? I know we need to make reservations but I am unsure of who to call. Do I have to ask for riverside seating? I spoke to my wife about the balcony thing, but she thought $60.00 was a bit steep for a DS 7 & a DD 5. If we could order deserts off a menu somewhere that would work. We would be doing the early show, so what time do we make them for?

I am sorry if this seems repatative, but reading this post has seemed to go all over. Anyways, thanks for the help from all you GREAT DIS'ers.

Both the balcony and riverside seating costs $60, but it appears riverside is cheaper for kids ($50). To see locations, etc., check this link here on DIS www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland-california/disneyland-fantasmic.htm
