How hard is it to get ADR's for Feb?

My BIL and SIL and planning on booking their trip this week for the last week of Feb (21-28). They are planning on adding the dining plan. My SIL plans to call for ADR's in a few weeks (december or early january) after she has time to sit down and figure out what she wants to do. I told her I would hold off adding the dining plan until she finds out if she's able to get ADR's. She believes she'll have no problems getting what she wants - when they went 2 years ago they called about 5 weeks before they went and had no trouble getting what everything she wanted. And I guess since attendance is down for 2009, she's probably right. But I figured I'd check in with everyone from the DIS to see what you thought. How hard will it be for her to get ADR's the last week of Feb? The only must do's that I know they have are CM, Akershus, and San Angel.

I have been lucky and gotten all of the adrs we wanted for Feb. We are going the second week though. Less crowded than the last week. When I called last week though for a breakfast at Tusker House, I was told I got the last breakfast for that day.
I would get the ADRs for the character meals sooner than later. Especially CM and Askershus. Those fill up quickly.
Good luck!

My cousin is going at about the same time as your SIL. She called yesterday and got breakfast in the Castle.

The ADR system upgrade confusion helps - people aren't sure when to call so things aren't filling up as quickly. Also helping is the fact that room reservations are down for that time.

Friends of ours are going Feb 5th week. In one phone call she was able to get ADR's for up to 11 people at CRT, Norway breakfast, Ohana's and Chef Mickeys. There were others but I can't remember them right now. I was floored!

She called me and said, "OK Miss Disney. Is CRT hard to get into?" I felt like an idiot after I stressed to her "yes it is." Then she told me the news!:scared1:

Feb 07, we decided on a Wed night to go up on Fri-Sunday and I was able to get Le Cellier lunch, Spoodles breakfast, Cape May breakfast and dinner and CP dinner....all with one days notice...thats not bad (2 adults)

That last week in February is my "usual" week. It's not particularly busy to begin with. Also, the devaluing of DDP in 2008, plus the lower expected travel demand in 2009, are working for you.

That said, calling earlier is better than calling later. (I haven't done mine yet, either, but I'm in a bit of a planning malaise.)

We are going Feb. 2-12, and I have been able to get everything I wanted. The only issue I had was a Fantasmic package, and on my 4th time calling back, they had an opening for Hollywood and Vine :cool1: . Some of the places had very limited times left for seatings though, and when I made a comment about not believing they were that booked up already between the economy and "low season" for the parks, the CM said "Exactly, it is low season, and the economy isn't looking so hot- so we aren't seating at full capacity." So, my guess is that they are cutting some corners either with available times, staffing, or both.

I would say either call for ressies first, and then decide if DDP is going to be worth it, or get the DDP, and if you find that you aren't able to get the places you want, take it off your package (just make sure you make that decision in time to get the package changed).

Hmm... That is very interesting. That, along with the fact that they are also cutting park hours in February makes me really curious as to how crowds are going to be while we are there! I'm excited and worried at the same time! lol And this thread reminded me that I need to get my booty in gear and make our ADRs! :goodvibes

tho not in feb, i am going down the last week of jan and i had no problems with any of my lunch and dinner adr's at most of the places i wanted including 4 signatures. sadly again tho le cellier was completely booked thru my week stay right now
