How hard is it to carry a bunch of Disney gift cards around?

So I started buying Disney gift cards at Target with the 5% off. My question is, how difficult is it to carry $500 worth of gift cards around Disney? It would be 10 cards. My dh and I thought we would split the cards between us. He is worried about misplacing them or one getting accidentally dropped somewhere, etc. I was thinking of numbering them so we know we went through #1 first, etc.

Any other great ideas for tracking your gift cards?

There is a Disney Gift Card app for the iphone. I can keep track of my card balances that way. But if you are staying onsite, I would suggest leaving them on your room account and using your KTTW to make room charges. Any unused amount will be refunded to you.

Are you staying on property? If so, just have them add the gift cards to your resort account. Then you won't have to carry them at all. You can add them a couple at a time if you don't think you will use them all.

I would not carry them all around at once, just what you need for the day. The rest stay in the room safe. Or as suggested above, if staying onsite, have them added to your KTTW card for spending in the parks and resort.

I was able to get them put on one large card at guest services one time, but if on property, add them to your account and when you check out have the remaining balance put onto one gift card to take home.

Does anyone know if you can combine some of the gift cards? Is it possible to move the balances onto one or two cards? TIA.

I leave mine in the room safe and take out only what I need for the day.

No. You can't combine the balances on Disney Gift Cards. Too bad, because this would make it much easier. I have several with balances like $7.56, $2.11, etc. If they were Starbucks cards, I could combine them all on one card by just going online. I wish Disney would take a page from Starbucks' book.

Thanks for the suggestions! We are staying offsite. So I'll make sure we only take what we need each day to the parks.

We have also bought up gift cards throughout the year for our Oct trip. I will take out what we need for the day, and leave the rest in the safe. We are using them for food:thumbsup2

Agreed. I'm not even a big starbucks person, but I had a bunch of promotional gift cards in small amounts. It was so much easier to combine them and I loved being able to do it all online.

Photo copy all your cards front and back and keep in a safe place. That way, if something happens, you have proof. Or take a photo with your phone.

Isn't Starbucks coming to WDW soon? Who knows, this may be a possibility soon?

We carried a sharpie with us and marked each card with a big X once it was all used up. Each time you use a gift card the receipt shows the balance remaining on the card. We kept the newest receipt with the card until it was all used up. It wasn't too bad to keep track of the cards.
