How grody do your clothes get?

I'm trying to start the initial stages of packing, and I'm already overwhelmed (but it doesn't take much for me..).

One thing that I'm wondering is if jeans could be worn more than one day at the parks? Or do they get super sticky and grimy and just plain icky from being on rides and benches and buses, etc?
The last time that we were there it was mid-September, and so hot and humid that we definitely needed a full set of clean clothes each day.

It would really help us with packing if we could get a couple of days out of one pair of jeans. Usually I pack waaaaay too much for trips to be on the safe side, then hate myself when I have to carry it. :)

I know that doing laundry there is a possibility, but eh, who wants to do laundry on a vacation?!

So how do you pack? One clean outfit (or more) per day?

Well during the summer, no matter what you wear, most likely it's going to get pretty gross. I can't even imagine wearing jeans. But it looks like it won't be TOO hot during your stay, have you checked the weather? You should base your packing around that. And remember the ponchos! :) Have a great trip!

Good question, I'm only bringing 4 pairs of jeans for 7 days but bringing capri pants and shorts too...worse case I'll have to wash some quick one night but I bet DH would volunteer to do it for me or I'll do it while we swim or something.

For the time you're going you can absolutely rewear. You're not going to sweat and I don't feel my clothes are dirty after being in a park. It's all pixie dust - it doesn't stick :rotfl:

I will wear my blue jeans for at least two days provided nothing is spilled on them.. we usually have one early morning where I will wash clothes.. it works fine for us..

It's usually too hot to re-wear clothes. When we go for two weeks we usually do laundry once.

I guess that really depends on you. I plan outfits, then I throw in a couple extra per every 3-4 days.
For me taking jeans to Florida is pretty much non existant, we are from Michigan and I am hot blooded. But I did take 1 clean pair and the pair I wore on the plane when we went in Dec. That was perfect for me.

A trick I do is pack extra under garments. If you sweat those are the things that "freshen" you up more than a complete change of clothes, especially jean material. They don't take up that much room and yet it makes you feel better.

Depending on when your trip is and what weather you are use to is a better judge of what you should do.
At home if you are out all day on an outing or a amusement park do you need to change mid day?

And remember it is DW, you will most likely be buying some clothes (if you are anything like me anyway....lol) so that works too!

During summer months, just change undergarments regularily and you will be fine. We wear most of our shorts twice before washing (assuming no spills). No idea what jeans would be like in that kind of heat. :confused3

Shirts are another question. With all of that sweat, they have to be washed before they are worn again...

While I haven't been in WDW in jan/feb(all our trips have been either March or May), I've been in Florida this time a year and I can't imagine rewearing anything. I always pack two outfits for each day and usually use them. Maybe I'm too fussy, but if we hit the pool mid-day I don't like to put back on dirty clothes. I also don't recall ever wearing jeans in Florida, but again like I said I haven't been in the parks this time a year.

I just wanted to say that I love how you spelled out the word 'grody.' I say that word, too! :cool1:

I've been to WDW 5 times in Dec/Jan, but have never brought jeans because they weigh too much and take up too much room, but I have worn lightweight dark capris more than once. I agree that extra undies are the key for me.

I know your on Vacation BUT...I found it very helpful last trip with a small one to do a load of laundry and only take half the clothes. Half way throught everyone needs an early night in maybe a quick dinner and a dip in the pool and a trip to the laundry room. That's what I'm doing this time. The glamorus life of a MOM.( ANd Lucky)

I think for the time of the year you are going you can re-wear if you don't get something spilled on it. It isn't humid in Jan/Feb and unless you spill stuff on your clothes, you will be okay. Personal opinion, but rides where you get wet (Splash Mtn, Kali River Rapids) I like to wash my clothes after getting back. The water is kinda smelly and even when it is dry I can still smell it. Laundry doesn't take that long. Pick an evening when you are having dinner at your resort, pop the laundry in the machine, go and eat, and when you are finished the washing is done. Then drop it into the dryer and go sit at the pool or do something else. You dont relly have to "do" the washing - just get it in and out.

When I travel I usually wear jeans twice just to save space, that's usually for trips that last 10 days or more. For Disney our trips are never so long that I can't fit one new outfit per day in my suitcase (got to save room in there for souvenirs, though!) It only takes that one time to sit on a bench with melted ice cream that you didn't see.

We usually go for long enough that we needed a "full on" laundry day, but I have learned to overcome this by getting up really early one morning and doing the wash. I had the laundry room to myself last August. I got up and threw the laundry in the washers (needed 4 of them), then walked down just as the counter service opened for breakfast. I grabbed a hot chocolate and roll, then went back a read my book by the pool as the clothes washed. Switch to dryers, fold, and get ready for rope drop... :thumbsup2

Depending on the day we usually get an extra day out of shorts but MUST have a new shirt every day.

Bad weather or water rides will make re-wearing something impossible.

Its kind of funny cause my shirt gets a hidden mickey.
Summertime.... sweat....dries...leaves salt.....Hidden Mickey shape on my shirt!

Kinda gross but also funny. I never noticed it until the kids pointed it out.

Definately a new shirt every day. In summer we brought extra T-shirts since they get so bad.

I usually save my jeans for the days I fly down and then fly home, other pants I try not to wear more then twice, maybe three times depending on how they look/smell. New shirt every day, sometimes two shirts a day.

Thanks for all of the info!

Because I'm neurotic and don't want anyone to think that I am gross, I'm only talking about jeans or heavy shorts here. I promise that I'd never ever in a million years re-wear underwear or a t-shirt a second time. REALLY! :scared1:

Since we're going in the first week of February, it's been hard to figure out what to pack (I know that I'm not alone in this). It sounds like we'll need both jeans and shorts. Well, shorts for the kids. My pasty legs don't need to be out, walkin' around the MK. Nobody wants to see that.

Now I'm leaning towards a laundry night or morning. It sounds less of a pain than carrying 8+ full outfits for four people.

1) We only pack carry-ons for Disney.
2) We do one of two things
. . . we do a laundry load mid-week, or
. . . wear them until they stand in corner (then good for one more day)
