How good is WDW resort shampoo+conditioner?

I love the shampoo but don't care for the conditioner. I usually bring my own conditioner from home and I also use a leave in conditioner. My hair hates the Florida humidity and I need the extra conditioning to prevent extreme frizziness. When I see people with silky smooth hair in WDW I always wonder what the secret is because I really fight frizzy hair in Disney.

I have wavy hair but nothing that requires special products. I am going to WDW for fun, not to attract anyone. I want to carry on my luggage to MCO but then check it back so I can fill it with souvenirs, I can save some space and money by not bringing travel shampoos. How good is the shampoo+cond? Does it dry out hair? Would bring my wet brush to brush through it before I leave the shower. Thanks for answering this odd question! :)

It depends on your hair type. I have fine thin hair which is pretty normal as far as oily/dry spectrum but the H20 products are awful for me. My hair got super dry and frizzy every time I tried it. I do have a little natural wave to my hair Florida tends to make that more wavy. Combine that with frizzy/dry and I get breakage.

Considering the humidity you would think it wouldn't get dry but it does. I've tried a few different products in that line but they all just won't work. I always bring my own from home.

Turns my hair into straw-dries it out and the conditioner does nothing to help. My daughter with thick, long, wavy hair can't use it because it just leaves her with knots.

I don't like it. Dries my hair out and it smells horrible (like medicine).

So, I have fine, wavy (2b) hair. I found that if I condition, shampoo, then condition again using at least two palmfuls, the H2O products work fine on my hair.

At times Disney may change the brand of products they place in the room. I think it is more reliable to bring those items from home you already know work for you. Most grocery stores have an area where they sell those small travel size containers so they don't take up as much luggage space. You can also reuse the containers by refilling them at home and use for future trips.

I have wavy/sometimes curly hair. The H20+ products are fine for me. I love the scent. The shampoo is better than the conditioner. I use A LOT of conditioner when I'm there, so that probably helps. Honestly, at the end of the day, my hair is in a bun or braided 95% of the time while at Disney, so I prefer to save the space in my suitcase and just use the Disney products.

I have curly hair and DD has thick wavy hair and I bring all of my own hair products. I've never used hotel toiletries. They just don't work well for us.

I have wavy hair and I hate their conditioner. The shampoo I tolerate despite the smell, but I always bring my own conditioner.
If you're flying in and taking Uber from the airport, I'm pretty sure you can arrange an extra stop at Walgreens or CVS on US-192 near Disney.

I bring my own shampoo & conditioner from home, but my hair still feels like straw after I blow dry it (I bring my own blow dryer too). I have chalked it up to the water. Does anyone have any ideas for products to combat the straw hair from Florida water?

Is it water, or is it sun exposure? I bring my own products too and found my hair dried out too, until DH got me to wear a baseball cap to shade my eyes. It seems to protect my hair too!

I have a hard time with Florida water and my hair, whether I bring my own products (which do help) or using their products. Definitely water has a lot to do with it.

that is an interesting theory! Unfortunately I will never know, I look terrible in hats and I hate "hat head." lol!

I like the smell of it but it dries my hair out too. I have to use a ton of their conditioner. I have short, wavy and thin hair

Maybe it’s Disney water or rather the Reedy Creek treatment facility. I used to live in Orlando (rather close to the parks) and never had any issue with my own products and the water in my home drying out my hair. Editing to say: Now that I’m thinking more on this, I don’t remember getting straw hair when we were at Universal this last time either (or any time I visit friends), so now I’m wondering if it’s Disney’s products, Disney’s water, or a combo of the two!

You can carry on a shampoo bar. Basin at Disney Springs and at the Grand Floridian sells nice ones if you can't get one where you live. You can also order online.
