How good is the wifi in the parks?

I have a foreign phone, and I'm debating how much data to buy for my trip. Does the wifi in the parks work? I will want to be able to check wait times/weather reports. The last time I tried this at MK (a couple years ago), it was a nightmare - I couldn't stay connected long enough to get any information.

I have found that the wifi works well enough to check wait time apps and facebook etc. Just not too good for streaming videos etc.

It's not very fast, but its ok to for checking the WDW app or social media.

Works well enough for the app if you're in the middle of the parks. I did find as you get further out (especially at AK) I lost it a few times. But if you're just trying to save data and use it for wait times, FP, weather and things like that you should be fine.

I have much less luck with the wifi than the other posters.
I find it horrendous and end up turning it off most every day.
I always try it and it works sometimes but then others I get messages constantly where my phone is dropping and reconnecting in a continuous loop.
I know that's when it is overloaded but it happens more and more often every trip.
When it does that I have no choice but to turn off the Wifi.
And that's just to use MDE, not for anything else.
I have a Samsung Edge7 phone, so it's rather new. Matter of fact, I got it shipped to me at Disney in May, when I broke my phone during the trip.
Wifi didn't work well with it then and hasn't on any phone before

If you had the parks' wi-fi at a hotel, you'd complain to the front desk.
Daily.
