How good is the $99 deal?

OK, so I read in other threads that the $99 deal for 2 parks for the week is a good deal and that there is no expiration date etc. I'm thinking about a trip once HP opens, but how good of a deal is it? What is the usual 2 park, 7 day ticket price?

We thought it was a great deal. We just returned and loved it! We did go to SeaWorld one day and spent $250 for 2 adults and 1 child for 1 DAY! We liked Universal better, especially at that price!

If I am not mistake there is no 2 park seven day tickets that you can buy at the gates but are avalibale online which is a great deal when you consider the 2 day 2 park ticket is $99.99

You can find places like AAA that beat the gate price for Universal but not by much. Last time we bought some I saved $3/ticket

It was a great deal for our family. We spent 3 days in both parks, so at $33/day, it can't be beat!! Actually, I guess it can be if you go more days!

Leslie, how on EARTH did you spend $250 for 2 adults and 1 kid at SW for one day??? If you buy a single day ticket, you can turn it in as you exit for a second day free. Plus, it's $75 for adults and $65 for kids, but if you buy online you can all get the kids' price, or if you buy at the gate with a Southwest Airlines card, you get 20% off. For our family of 5, with 4 adult tickets and 1 kid ticket, we paid $291 plus tax with the 20% off, then went back free for our second day. It was a great value. You have to do your research online, especially here, to know about the best deals. Unless you're counting food costs, you managed to overpay their list prices.

We used the $99.99 deal for Universal as well. It was the best deal going, and believe me, I looked! We wandered in and out as we pleased, and it was great. We only went over a 3-day period because of our other activities, but it felt like a good deal. My only complaint would be how commercialized US/IoA is, certainly compared to SW, where I felt genuinely good about spending my money. But the parks were all GREAT.

Thank you all for your feedback. I always learn a lot from you experienced park-goers...but, I still didn't get the answer I was looking for. Maybe I didn't phrase my question correctly.

I want to know how much the 7 day- 2 park ticket normally costs (through the internet). IF it is $99 now and the deal ends, how much will it be? How much more will it cost in January of 2010? What did it cost last year at this time? I don't mean this message to sound patronizing, just trying to determine if I should buy 4 tickets now ($400) or hold out til I am sure I'm going and risk paying more...

The 7 day 2 parck ticket is ONLY available online and must be purchased in advance if picking if up at the park. So, the $99 online price is the only price for the ticket, with tax it's 108. I bought this ticket for the first time back in 2007, back then it was 84.95 for each one, so it has gone up during the years. They always state that this ticket is a special offer and can be stopped at any time, so there is no guarantee it will be available when you want it.

For several years they offered a 5 day ticket for $89 and later $99 and one year had a child's free ticket to go with the 5 day ticket.

The seven day ticket hasn't been around more than a couple of years. It has ranged in price from $99 to $129. I can pretty much promise that when Harry Potter opens up at the park that all of the tickets will go up in price.

Maybe someone else can confirm this, but when putting a package together online at Southwest, the 7 day tickets were 106 each, but were buy 1 get 1 free!

There is a deal on the Universal website that you can buy 1 ticket for an adult and get a child's ticket free but you have to be staying on site.

Going in November with 2 non expiring- 3 day 2 park ticks, we have one day left , from a trip in 02...

Will have to get one more ticket for the 3d person. No clue what happened to the third ticket, maybe it was a kids so a different deal.

Can those 3 day non expiring with 1 day left be upgraded to anything? Thanks!

The 7-day ticket can only be used for 7 consecutive days, so it expires 7-days after its first use!

The week before Thanksgiving isn't usually too crowded and going during the week is smart. I doubt seriously you would need Express passes for that day but you can buy them at either park once you're there. I would purchase the ticket ahead of time and use electronic pickup to save time in the lines. All you need is the confirmation # and credit card. Go to the kiosk located outside the gates and punch in this information. The tickets come right out and there's rarely a line.
