I have a dinner reservation for Rose & Crown for our upcoming trip and want to know if it is worth going back to Epcot at night for it (if not, I would cancel). DH wants to try the place but with two children (DD 5 & DD1)...I'm not sure if I should make a reservation somewhere else. :confused3 We are planning on get to Epcot early in the morning for our Story Book Dining Reservation then leave around 1 for naps...

Thanks!

Yes, I believe it is worth it. We have gone every trip. This last trip I found out that the Guinness Stew was gone from their menu so we decided to try Raglan Road. Now others have liked RR but we did not. I missed Rose & Crown! We ended up getting a last minute ADR for Rose & Crown for lunch and I thought will I even like anything else....YES. I had a hard time choosing and we loved everything we ate. Plus the service is always great.

I would go! We love the Rose & Crown. Its less expensive than a lot of places and better food sometimes too. I love the Lamb 2 ways...it tastes like comfort food to me. My husband loves the sausages.

I like Rose and Crown too. It's not really a "must do" for me, but I've never had a bad meal there and I've always had exceptionally friendly service. I've tried a few times to make an ADR there near Illuminations and get an outdoor table but it's never worked out. They do however let you out into a "VIP" area if you are there during the show and are seated inside (or at least they did a few years back).

Its our only must-do every trip. One year we didn't make ressies and... woe to those who try to speak with Mary Poppins' mean stepsister at the hostess desk for a last minute table!

We have an ADR for September. It will be our 1st time eating there. We are very excited!

We really enjoyed it on our June trip! We shared the Scotch Eggs, DH got the Vegetarian Shepherd's Pie, and I had the Bangers and Mash. It was all wonderful!

My first ressie here was cancelled thanks to Hurricanne Jeanne lol.

Last time we had booked at a time to ensure we would be eating through Illuminations - we had a great table/view and the food was very very good.

All in all a great experience for us, I guess it's if your little ones will be okay with timings

We have eaten at Rose & Crown many times and enjoyed it. We have been lucky enough to get a table on the patio with an Illuminations view 3 times. It was great.
We have not been back our past few trips. I was not pleased with how they took many favorites off of the menu.
There are many great TS restaurants in WS and we have chosen not to go back to R & C, Perhaps we will in the future.
Enjoy whatever you choose

I love R&C. I've plowed through their menu over the years. And it's all good. Never tried the Scotch Eggs, but now that they're back I think I will. It's the only restaurant at Epcot where I've seen many people from the home country eating(and drinking). Tells me something about it.

We had ressies two years ago on a day my DD was auditioning for Disney. Well the audition lasted well past our time & Guest Services said So Sorry!! Went to the podium and was told they'd take us whenever she got there then gave us a wonderful table & took us outside to watch Illuminations.

Lat year DD and I were ungodly sick and almost cancelled but Ill. is my favorite show and we decided to try to tough it out. We were shown to a table right next to the water and our dear server, Kathryn (also my DD's name & spelling!) kept bringing pots of streaming water for tea and made us just sit and relax. THE BEST MEDICINE we could have had.

R & C is now a fixture on our annual trips!!! Oh, and we love the food too :thumbsup2

I went to R&C a few years back, and for the most part enjoyed it. I did think they were struggling a bit to present British food, it was pretty Americanized. Some sides where just not what you would see at a pub in UK (Orzo springs to mind, and you would never see mashed potato with steak) I have followed the menus since, they completely lost the plot a year or two back, but I am glad to see that they look like they are making an effort to have proper pub grub on the menu. They was a point where there seemed to be a token couple of entrees. I would love to try it again. Looks promising.

I do have experience in British pub grub, I grew up in a pub in UK. I also worked in the kitchens at another for a couple of years when I was in high school. So I'd like to think I have some grasp on what is served!!

Having said all that the food was always very good at R&C, and it's a great location. I'm fairly sure British food isn't that exotic that you need to tame it that much to local tastes...!!

Hate to be the negative one here, but last time we went it was horrible. They had the wait staff spread to thin, our food was dry and over cooked. I'm glad other have had better experiences, but we will not return.

We've been there numerous times - mainly because the Mrs. loves the Welsh Dragons and hey, who am I to say 'no' to a pint?! Food is alright but nothing to write home about in my opinion. Service pretty good but I find they're not to hot on cleaning the floor up in really busy periods.

Nothing like waiting for your fish and chips while eyeing cold french fries on the floor.

Can't complain though - had seating a bunch of times outside for 'wishes'- marvelous spot for it.
