I only have one reply to Debbart:
No one on this board was "giving permission" to ignore the dress code. And Disneymom1 wasn't even looking for "permission" to. She was simply stating that she really doesn't want to miss out on the restaurant atmosphere, so she wants to do the best she can with the dress code. Sheesh...it's not like they're planning on wearing shorts and tank tops on formal night. Let's just all be reasonable. While there are some who have no concept of what dress code means, I don't think that Disneymom1 is one of those people. Don't send her and her family to the buffet just because her DH's jacket and tie aren't fancy enough for you...
To Disneymom1:
There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with a jacket and tie on formal and semi-formal nights.
While I completely understand that "getting all dressed up" (tux, formal evening gown, the works) is a lot of fun and really important to some, For me, renting a tux would be a hassle and expense that just wouldn't be worth it. IMHO, your DH can look just as nice without having to spend all the extra $$. And there is NOTHING in the "suggested attire" for formal night that says that you have to wear a tux or a formal evening gown...
Just have fun...It's a Disney Cruise!!!
