How fast can you type?

It said my accuracy was impressive, but I only got 49 WPM. I am also tired today so I will try it again when I am feeling better. I did have formal typing classes in college, but I have adapted my own way of typing too.

I got 75 words per minute with 3 mistakes = 72. I used to be so fast and accurate when I used a typewriter (yes, I'm that old). But I got lazy with the computer because it's so easy to fix your mistakes before they go on paper. I usually make a ton of mistakes now.

Your speed was 73 WPM with 4 mistakes (adjusted speed 69 WPM)

I went for speed. Thats why we have spell check. Ive never taken a typing class. I just have years AIM experience under my fingertips. :)

Woo hoo!! :cool1:

Your speed was 100 WPM with 2 mistakes (adjusted speed 98 WPM)

Can you tell I've been a secretary for 27 years?!

I'm going to try again....

Your accuracy was impressive.

Your speed was 72 WPM

Your speed was 63 WPM with 6 mistakes (adjusted speed 57 WPM)

I took a typing course in high school and tested at 72 WPM with no mistakes. Usually I require the correct balance of caffene and sugar in order to type at my best rate. I guess I haven't had quite enough coffee today.

My speed was 186 WPM with 48 mistakes. :rotfl2:

Now, if we can only get those errors down... you'd be a prodigy! :rotfl2:

The exercise was
In my skepticism, I had assumed that the bias toward the peanut bags must be cost-related (i.e..peanuts must be cheaper)..But the surprising response from Steve Albert, the Food and Beverage Administrator of TWA, was that an effort is made to rotate the snacks, but the public response is always the same: Bring back the peanuts.

Your accuracy was impressive.

Your speed was 51 WPM

Your speed was 64 WPM with 1 mistake (adjusted speed 63 WPM).

I’d say that that’s actually a little low. I had to take several typing tests about 2 years ago for some interviews, and I scored around 75 wpm on those. I use the touch style. I think the DIS has actually helped improve my typing more than my typing class in high school (though that laid the foundation).

My best adjusted score was 68. I took the test a few times trying to get a better score. :goodvibes

My biggest problem was that I kept wanting to correct mistakes in the samples. It's hard for an editor not to want to automatically fix things!

P.S. I think this is my 100th post!

I got 59 WPM with 2 mistakes so 57 WPM with my keyboard balanced on the hiney of a poodle on my lap. When he wakes up I'll try it without the rocking back and forth..lol

Okay, 77 words with 4 mistakes with the keyboard on the desk by Reilly asleep on my left hand rendering it unable to hit more than the middle row so the right hand would have to take up the slack. :rotfl:

Thanks for that link -- I've never known how fast I typed!

My speed was 79 WPM with 1 mistake (adjusted speed 78 WPM)

59 with one error, 58 adjusted. I used to be much faster!!!

That's funny you ask because my DH just installed Mavis Beacon Typing on his computer and the boys and I have been competing with each other to see who's the fastest typist. According to MB, I type 64 a minute. My DH types about 5!!! :teeth:

I'm 83 words with 3 mistakes = 80 wpm. That was fun! I actually tested for a position about a month ago for the first time in nearly 20 years and typed 95 wpm. What can I say, I'm a graduate of Burdett School more than 25 years ago when you had to type 85 wpm and take shorthand at 100 wpm to graduate. Can't say playing on the DIS hurts either!

89 with 2 mistakes for an adjusted speed of 87WPM.

Not too bad since I haven't had a typing class in 25 years and I was on the laptop.
