Here's a typing test you can take to find out: http://www.learn2type.com/TypingTest

Your speed was 96 WPM with 2 mistakes (adjusted speed 94 WPM)
I took a few typing classes -- one in high school and a couple in a business school I attended. I was a secretary for about a year.

Just curious to see how fast ya'll can type.

Also, did you take typing lessons? Or did you teach yourself? Do you type for a living? Or do you just type for pleasure? Do you type "touch style" or do you hunt and peck, or do the two-fingered thing?

Mine was "Your speed was 70 WPM with 7 mistakes (adjusted speed 63 WPM)". I was nervous and made some stupid mistakes. I guess my high school typing class paid off. I use the "touch style" and I type almost every day for my writing class and some stories I am working on.

59 WPM with 2 mistakes, so adusted is 57 WPM. I took some typing 20 years ago in HS and I use the proper typing method.

"Your accuracy was impressive.

Your speed was 76 WPM"

This was fun, I hadn't taken a test since high school and that was ummmmm a long time ago.

Alright I'm just gonna say that somebody better get a lower score than me. I am highly competitive and I took that darn test like 10 times and that was my highest dang score. Now I am looking like a complete loser. Somebody get over here and do worse than me. :rotfl2:

I went for accuracy over speed.

Your accuracy was impressive.
Your speed was 57 WPM

Think I'll take another one and just go for speed to see what happens. :teeth:

Your speed was 49 WPM with 2 mistakes (adjusted speed 47 WPM)

(I correct as I go--so this includes several backspaces to fix stuff...just how I type :)).

Now I'll go for speed.

Here you go. I got 51 adjusted wpm and I took a class way back in high school. Speed was never my thing.

Thanks for the website. I wondered what my typing speed was.

No backspacing (one or two out of habit perhaps)...

Your speed was 72 WPM with 5 mistakes (adjusted speed 67 WPM)

I felt this was a MUCH MUCH easier paragraph, though.

Thank you. :flower3:

The rest of you people............... :earboy2:

I always thought I was a fast typist but I scored 54 WPM, no mistakes. By the way, I did make mistakes and backspaced to correct them. Apparently that didn't count against me.

I'm off to try again for more speed! :)

This is what I had to type...

Here is a simple experiment that will teach you an important electrical lesson: On a cool, dry day, scuff your feet along a carpet, then reach your hand into a friend's mouth and touch one of his dental fillings..Did you notice how your friend twitched violently and cried out in pain? This teaches us that electricity can be a very powerful force, but we must never use it to hurt others unless we need to learn an important electrical lesson.

Now who in their right mind would do this to a friend or allow this to be done to themselves? :confused3

By the way I've never had a typing lesson in my life and this test confirms it!

:rotfl2: That's awful! But it's still somehow very funny.

Or how about getting a friend to chew on some aluminum foil? :scared:  :crazy2:

I got a 49 and a 64. My first paragraph was HARD! Lots of punctuation and even parentheses. My second was easier. I backspaced and fixed my mistakes though, it is a habit I have so that cost some time. I had one mistake both times.

My DH just e-mailed me and said he got a 136! :earseek: I told him I didn't believe him so he's sending me a screen shot. :rotfl2:

I WIN (or lose depending on how you look at it) 42 wpm with 8 errors adjusted to 36 wpm. I took typing jr year in high school and I was never very good.
