I know I know, this is all dependent on how much you eat and how fast you eat...but, if you went to Crystal Palace (only adults) for an 8:05am reservation and had no interest in seeing any characters....what do you think the soonest you could be done is?

I'm thinking after my Crystal Palace reservation I'd like to head back out to watch the Welcome/RD Show at the Train Station before the parks open at 9:00am. Doable? It's not a huge deal if I miss it, it's just something I really like to watch and will only have one bright and early morning at the MK.

I know on our last trip to WDW we were done by 9:05am, but that was with a child who wanted pictures with characters as they passed.

1/2 hour easy. Just ask for your check when you get there.

We were done eating around 8:45 & were seated around 8:05. We took pics with 3 characters before we finished eating, too. As long as you beat the crowd to the buffet, you can move fast.

this might be a stupid question, but why not make breakfast another day if you want to go to rope drop ? Then you're not rushed.... maybe get something to eat at your resort then head to the MK. :confused3

It just seems like you're going to spend alot of time getting there, getting in the MK going to the CP.... wolfing down food so you can high tail it back down Main Street just to see the rope drop show. Then high tail it back UP Main Street to start going on rides / get fast passes / etc.

I think I'd throw up my breakfast after all that ! I'd keep it simple and get something light for breakfast that day....maybe do lunch at CP. Then you can relax a little.

If you're like my son who eats as though he's about to miss his train, 20 minutes from top to bottom, of course some of us like to savor what we eat rather than just aspirate it. Enjoy!

The key as cw 21726 pointed out is to ask for your check right after you order.

I agree, but just take some breakfast bars and reduce the time to 90 seconds. I'm with Syndeysmom, why spend all that money & effort to wolf down a breakfast?:confused3

We had an 8:05 ADR with a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old last year. We were out of there at about 5 minutes before 9, and we saw ALL of the characters, and both our boys got to participate in the napkin parade. DH and I did not feel like we rushed either. Had it been just the 2 of us, we probably could have finished 10-15 minutes before we did with the kids, and we would still not have felt like we rushed.

If you decide not to go and run back up Main Street, you could always schedule the breakfast for later in the morning...that way you could see the rope drop welcome, go on some rides without much of a wait, and then take a break later in the morning and make it a brunch.

Why not skip breakfast and do it another day? I have the money, I like the food more than a QS, i dont need to see characters, I get to take more pictures on an empty Main Street, I'm a fast eater and like I said...I dont have another morning to do the MK. If it doesn't bother me to rush breakfast (although honestly 35 minutes isn't a rush to me) then it shouldn't bother
anyone else. :thumbsup2

Thanks to everyone who responded to the question I asked---sounds like I'll have enough time for both. :goodvibes

We can do it in about 20, 25 minutes... really doesn't take that long to get a plate of food, eat, get another plate and eat that.
What holds us back is waiting forever for the check!! Try to remember to ask for it right away. We always seem to get stuck that server brings our drinks.... and that's the last we see of them. We try to ask for our check once we get back with first round of plates... and then sit there annoyed waiting for our server. I guess they assume eh, they'll be here a while waiting to see all the characters... and that's not the case.

I don't think we've ever been there more than an hour, and we wait to see all the characters. The timeframe you suggested is completely doable if there is no interest in the characters.

Every time we've done CP for an 8:05am breakfast, we've been done by 8:45 or so. Sometimes we see all the characters, sometimes we might miss 1. But for us that's not a big deal.

Perhaps do rope drop then have breakfast or a brunch afterwards. do what you really want to do first.:cool1:

It normally takes us 20-30 minutes--depending on the lines to get food. We frequent the same buffet breakfasts and normally know exactly what we want. We normally ask for the check right away... and our lovely servers at Hollywood and Vine always bring us a to-go cup for our drinks so we can still enjoy them when we get outside for rope drop--I'm sure they would do this elsewhere too.

With my 5 yo triplets, we are able to be out of there right at rope drop and we are not rushing either and seeing all the characters. I would say that adults could do better then that. As everyone mentionned ,ask for the check ASAP.

We have been in and out of the character breakfasts in 40 minutes or less...we are not interested in seeing the characters that much either
