How fashionable are you?

I'm not. I really just dont care about fashion. Dont get me wrong, I want to look nice, but I just dont care about whats in style too much.


I am trying to be more feminine though. I have a tendency to wear sweatshirts a lot in the winter and they arent that pretty. Now that DH is actually around more during the day, its made me more aware of it too.
I also really need a new hairstyle to go with that plan.

So are you fashionable?

I'm with you, Binny. I'm not very fashionable either. I'm a jeans and t-shirt or sweatshirt kind of girl, sometimes sweaters too. I do have a few nicer outfits but rarely go anywhere that warrants wearing them. Sometimes if we go out to a movie and dinner I'll wear slacks and a nice top, but that's rare. Or to a wedding or funeral I'll wear a dress or slacks/sweater/top. But I don't buy new clothes every season, just to be "in fashion." Most of the "fashions" I don't much like anyway. I like simple things, and classic things like the little black dress, black slacks, etc.

A few years ago when I lost so much weight I did try to dress up more often, but really just wasn't even comfortable. I prefer my jeans!

Not very! I used to be, but then i became a stay-at-home-mom and it became comfort/play wear. Now I work in a kitchen so I wear scrubs to work, and i don't see the purpose in changing when I come home. I mean, that just makes more laundry for me to do, KWIM? I try to "dress up" when I go grocery shopping and to the bank (my big trip out!) but really that means jeans and a decent shirt with my Merrell's. And let's face it, sometimes it's a fleece and not a decent shirt I would like to have nicer clothes, but for the amount I'd wear them, I would never get my money's worth before they went out of style!

I would love to spend money in Buckle, buy Dooney and Burke purses and fancy shoes however the budget does not allow it.

I try! Fashionable does not mean you cannot wear jeans......there are very fashionable jeans and then there are........"mom" jeans.

Love fashion. I love expensive clothes, shoes and purses.

I like my kids to look good so I buy their clothes at nice clothing stores also.

Its my vice and I know it, that why I work part-time to support my clothing and travel addiction.

Yes, I am fashionable and love it. I buy pieces that I can wear for many years - if I buy something super trendy, it will be a scarf, costume jewelry or small handbag.

Funny thing is, I wear scrubs to work - I need to find another line of work

I don't know if I'd call myself fashionable, but I try. I work in an office so I do have to dress up a little every day. When we go out, I also dress up "a little" but not to the nines, so to speak. Nice jeans, nice sweater or blouse and heels usually do the trick. I would never go out in a sweatshirt or t-shirt unless it's to run an errand or something. However, hanging out at the house--anything goes!

Did you know they make scrubs with "bling" on them. I wouldn't wear them but I guess some do. Are you a nurse/doctor or another profession?

Fashionable--not very much at all.

My goal is to not look like I slept in my clothes. I did begin updating my warddrobe to look a little more....current. Stein Mart is great for that (IMHO anyway).

I try to use *some* of the tips provided on What not to Wear. I..e I camoflauge my body very well in most cases b/c I dress for my shape.


No I'm big and pregnant and almost in my 3rd trimester and it is all that I can muster to not look like a slob. I just don't care otherwise. I'll get more "fashionable" after the baby.

I can usually be found in jeans or khaki's, sweater and turtleneck in the winter and a polo shirt and golf shorts in the summer.

For work I have to wear a suit everyday so I am as fashionable as that allows but only because I have to be otherwise you would find me wearing the above.

Total fashionista here and I readily admit it. Even my house sweats are coordinated.

I have an all black work dress code, I don't just toss on the black t-shirt. Every day, I work to get the accessories to hit the right note. And I spend the days usually up on a ladder with power tools. I set trend for the building, if I'm not pulled together--what does it say about my work?

And I don't leave the house without make-up. Yes I'm one of those, even if I'm just running a quick errand on the weekend, I have on a tinted moisturizer, concealer, and lip gloss.

Yes I'm one of those. But I know what to spend money on, it's the quality pieces that will last. And I outlet shop.

I love clothes and fashion, though I always dress for my body type first. There are a lot of trends that just don't suit me, so I stay away from them and go for more classic pieces.

That said, I have let myself go lately. Everything going on with my mum has left little time or inclination to make an effort. My hair has been up in a pony tail rather than actually done, my makeup is down to sunscreen, foundation, and mascara... (And I adore makeup.) There also hasn't been the opportunity to get to the gym so I also don't feel that great about myself.

Oh well, one day I'll have the time to care again.

I'm retired and living in Florida. It's all about comfort these days, except for band gigs and I try to keep those that require tuxedos to a minimum. I think half my wardrobe has Disney logos or something Disney (Disney never goes out of fashion).

I suppose it depends on the day you catch me. Some days when its really cold and nasty out it's sweats and I look like a bit of bubblegum. Other days, like today, I am appropriately trendy for my age group. This means touches of trendy along with age appropriately trendy bits or accents. I love jeans, but trendy jeans means tight fitting dark stain thin fitted down to the ankle. Lately I am loving Bandolino jeans with lycra which means comfy and trendy all in one. Tops tend to be classic with a V neck because I am short and anything other than a V is a no-no. My shoes & purse tend to be on the upscale side because, I think, people tend to judge a woman on these accents, like they judge a guy on his watch. Boots and shoes tend to be 'in' colors and styles, often with a touch of a metal accent because, for some reason, that touch of a metal buckle or something small tends to look more upscale than something plain. Heels, except for whatever is out of style, always seem to make women look instantly 'put together', or at least that's how I read it when I'm out in the world. My makeup (Bare Minerals) is low key since that's in, and my hair is curly so I can only do so much, but if it was straight I would definitely go with a trendy cut. Hair can make or break a woman. A age appropriately trendy cut will make any woman look like she cares about herself and that will make her instantly more attractive all by itself. If your not sure how to style your hair i suggest taking some time to sit at a local mall and do some people watching. Who do you think looks put together and why? What hairstyles make you 'think' a woman spends time on herself. Make a list then find a stylist to do it for you. I would even ask a woman with very nice hair who does her styling, it's a nice compliment to give and most women would be flattered to hear it so I'm sure you'd get the stylists name & number.
