How far would you drive to see your hairstylist?

I currently drive about 30 minutes for my hairdresser. It's not just how she does my hair which is great, but it's also the whole atmosphere of the place. Small, laid back, friendly. I love it.

I drive just over an hour and I would go further if I was delighted with a stylist(which I am)!

I've had the same stylist for 18 years. I started going to her when she was fresh out of beauty school.

She has now become a hugely sought after stylist and doesn't even take any new clients anymore, she is that good and in demand.

Needless to say, I drive an hour each way to get my hair done by her. I tried somebody else closer by once, and learned that I get what I pay and drive for. Nobody else will ever touch my hair as long as she is still working and works within a day's drive.

I drive 45 highway mins to see mine after I moved to a new town. I've been going to the same place since 2nd grade so I'm glad to see I'm not alone in keeping my stylist for a long time!!

When I was planning my wedding, I initially was going to get married in Disney and I was trying to work out logistics of flying him down to do my hair that morning, lol. In the end I made it easier on everyone and got married closer to home :)

Its a hairdresser I've had since I was eleven...so I take the 1 1/2 hour trip (more if there is traffic through the city)
I love the job he does

Right now I drive 30 minutes to my stylist, I would go up to 1 1/2 hours if I had to. She's THAT good, I don't trust anyone else PERIOD! My DH is considering a job 3 states away and believe me when I tell you, one of the first thoughts in my head (after family, schools, housing etc) was my hair dresser, so I guess I should revise and say, I'm willing to drive 8 hours but it would be worked in on a visit to see my mother :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

(btw, I am a natural redhead, with color similar to yours and tons of thick hair. I need to really trust my stylist because I get nervous about matching my original color, now that I am <gasp>going grey;))

Just add 2 cowlicks and you have me :)

I'd follow an awesome stylist to the ends of the earth.

I would travel around 2 hours for a good hairdresser.

BTW - if anyone knows of anyone in my area - please PM me! I found an AWESOME lady that I have been going to and now several people that I work with had been going to and she fell off the face of the planet. I went to someone this weekend and I hate my hair cut. So, I am trying to find someone else!

I love my stylist...she actually gave me my first haircut (she's one of my mom's good friends)...I'll be 40 this year so....lol, she has been there/done that with me for more than a few years.:goodvibes

I now live about 10 min. away from her but I have driven up to an hour on a regular basis (every five weeks). When we moved to Florida and were 8 hrs away I always scheduled a cut when we were home (maybe 3 or 4 times a year)....but I had to have some support services in Jacksonville, lol.

If you have a good, steady customer base you should be fine. If your people love you like I love mine, a small move like that wouldn't discourage me AT ALL.

My hair stylist moved to New Mexico and he only comes to Dallas to do hair 7-10 days out of each month. If I had to get on a plane and go to Santa Fe for a haircut I would do it. I love him!

I drive 40 minutes for my stylist. My entire family goes to her salon (she is the owner). When I say family, not only dh and 2 dd but 4 sisters, 1 sil, 1 brother,2 bil and 1 best friend.

We joke that the salon was paid for by my family. When my stylist's dad died last year we sent flowers.

My siblings and I have all moved since we began to the salon but we all continued to go to the salon. 4 years ago when my youngest sister got married, my stylist closed the shop just to take care of all of us.
