How far to Whispering Canyons?

How far is it to Whispering Canyons/Wilderness Lodge from the Magic Kingdom? We thought about having dinner there but wondering how long we'd need need to plan so not to miss the parade & fireworks.
THose skillets look like they are NOT to be missed!

There is a boat that goes from the front of the Magic Kingdom to the Wilderness Lodge boat dock. From there, you walk along the path near the pool into the hotel and up the inside ramp to the restaurant.

NICE! We didn't want to miss it. Sounds like it's a pretty quick trip.....figure we can plan 30 mins each way

30 minutes is a good estimate if the boat is there when you arrive. I would guess there is about 10-15 minutes between boats.

It took us 15 minutes to get there once the boat arrived last time we went which including a stop at Fort Wilderness Campground so I guess 30 minutes is about the average time to allow

We just got back from Wilderness Lodge and took the boat several times to and from Magic Kingdom. The boat trip took maybe 10 minutes max. We didn't have to stop at Ft Wilderness though, maybe they only do that at slower times.

You can also take the bus, it only takes about 5 minutes or so. Like any WDW transportation=, a lot of it is a matter of good or bad timing. This trip it seems we had great timing, we would no more than get to a bus/boat stop and a bus was either there or one pulled up within a few minutes. Other trips it seems like no matter what we would always get to the bus stop right as a bus was pulling out or a few minutes after it pulled out.
