How Far Out To Book A DL Hotel

Our first DL trip is about a year out and I was wondering how long I should wait to book a stay either at the Grand Californian or Disneyland Hotel. Do rooms fill up quickly?

I would estimate six months before to be sure you got the hotel and room type/you wanted. You also want to keep watching for Disneyland Resort Hotel specials online.

Double check the refund policy and then book now. If you change your mind cancel later. There's no percentage in waiting if you know you want one of those hotels, a convention could schedule that week and suddenly all the rooms you want are gone. If a sale comes out call and see if they'll apply it to your booking or if they can rebook you. (Sales come out couple months ahead of your trip and are usually good Sun-Thurs nights mid Jan to mid June and end of Aug to mid Dec. There can be lots of blackout dates.)

Are there usually some type of room discounts available?

Disneyland Hotels usually have some promotions. Though there are restrictions with dates and hotel.

How far out does the convention center book its events?

Usually 6 months to a year in advance. When are you planning your trip?

Planning on the last week of June 2018 after school is finished here. Usually when we go to WDW we book a year out but didn't know if DL was different. I tried to look up rates on the website but can't get anything for 2018.

Keep checking the website to see when your dates open up. It is odd that there is nothing for 2018 yet.

Idk, but googling Anaheim Convention Center will give you the website and calendar. End of June though I think you're mainly competing with school crowds. Keep in mind that if you can't book, neither can anyone else- so check back like once every week or 2 and book when the calendar opens but don't fret over it :)

The Disneyland hotels for the last week of June this year have been pretty well booked solid for the last two months. An occasional room category will open up (as someone cancels, I assume).

We book 6-9 months in advance, pay in full as soon as possible, then I monitor the website for changes and 'specials'. Once we were able to add another night at the DLH for only an additional $67.00 due to a special offer with a lower nightly rate.

That is awesome. I usually book 3 months before and then pay the month before arrival. I also always have the travel stuff waiting for me at the front desk of DLH. Once I forgot it at home, never again. I monitor the website daily and also check my email for promotions.

If you want a suite, book early. Especially at GCH but DLH too. We usually stay in a one or two bedroom suite, and even 6 months in advance we have been shut out of one resort or the other. So I agree, book asap when it is available.

DL has a much shorter booking time then WDW. Hopefully in a month or so the dates will come out.

Try making the reservation over the phone. I was able to book rooms one year in advance for Dapper Day, well before the online site was ready. Add your admission tickets to the room reservation. That locks in the current price , hedging against any price increases

We booked the DLR last month for the last week in June this year. A standard room was open and it was $600 a night. No promotions of any kind for those dates. The only ones that came up end mid June.
