i booked my sept and dec trips in early may and just finished booking my feb 06 trip yesterday.
airfare tends to be our biggest expendature (feb tick's for 127.00 yippie) so I buy tickets first then pick up the room later.
just a question.. how does Disney handle it if you get a good rate after you have booked.?.do you have to make all new Ressies or will they just give you the new rate. we would like to go some time between Sept and Dec of 06 and i was considering reserving asnd starting to pay on the rooms but don't want to get locked into a crummy rate. any one had any experience with this..also the best rate stuff only applies to APs right and is that a permanent program or just temporary and is it the the room rate where you need a valid ap at check in or do you need it to tget the best rate deal..guess that's really 3 questions oopppss
You can alter your ressie up to the 45 day mark. I initally made our reservations w/o dining. Then when the free dining promotion came out I called and got out package upgraded. No problems it was applied to the initial reservation. That way you can start to pay off the total long before the trip comes. Just don't pay in full till your 45 day mark. This way if a better rate/deal comes along just call and make the changes.
We usually book 11 months in advance since we are DVC members! But like others on the boards, usually start planning the next trip while on the current one! It's NEVER too early to book a trip to WDW!!!! Kathy
