How far out can I borrow?

I keep getting conflicting information. How far out can I borrow points? One contract year or two? I am chaning my reservation for November and need to book a 2bdrm instead of the 1bdrm I have now but have already borrowed my 2014 points. Can I borrow points from 2015? I have been told yes but when I try to change it on dvc.com it won't let me. HELP PLEASE!!!

What is your Use Year? But the answer is one use year beyond the date your vacation starts, not two.

Banking is 1 UY forward and borrowing is 1 UY back.

You are moving the points from their existing UY to the new UY.

You cannot borrow from your 2015 use year for a vacation that falls within your 2013 use year. Sorry.

We can explain in more detail if we know your use year.

Use year might help! LOL. Sorry gang. This has just thrown a HUGE monkey wrench into my plans and I am trying not to freak out right now.

My use year is June. Vacation is this coming November. Looks like I will have to give up my coveted BCV and change to OKW to accomodate. Thanks for the help.

A Nov 2013 trip falls in your June 2013 UY. That means you can used banked 2012 points, current 2013 points and borrowed 2014 points.

Just set up a calendar with the first month of your UY as the first month of your calendar.

June 2013 use year points are good for vacations between 6/1/2013 and 5/31/2014.

You can borrow one use year ahead - in this case 2014 (but not 2015).

You can use points that you bank from 2012.

For a November 2013 vacation, you can use points that you banked from 2012 (if you have any), points from 2013 (current use year for a November 2013 vacation) and you may borrow from your 2014 use year.

Sorry you have to move. Would two studios at BCV work instead? Would you be willing to rent the last night or two for the two bedroom option? Or maybe you could find someone to transfer you the points you still need to make the 2B reservation. Of course the last two options would involve more money. Maye the extra guests could help you out?

Always remember that it is the UY of the trip that determines the points which can be borrowed. So if you are traveling in your 2013 UY, then you can borrow from your 2014 UY.

You can, but you may actually have two reservations. One for May 25-June 1 and second one for June 1-June 5.

also remember that such a trip puts the may dates at the end of your UY. if you need to cancel after your banking window closes, your options may be limited.

And, you may have to call to book since the website won't allow you to book a trip that spans UY.
