How far of a walk is it?

From DL to Downtown Disney? SPecifically Rainforst Cafe? Would it be a waste of time to go there to eat and then go back to the park?

About three minutes. :)

It's not a waste of time in the least, everything in Downtown Disney is within easy walking distance of both parks.

Enjoy!

We got on the Monorail in Tomorrowland and rode it to DD. When you leave the station, RFC is on your right, just a few steps. Make sure to get your hand stamped to return to the Park.

DD was very easy to walk back and forth to the parks during the day. Only time I had a problem was on our 3 day, when we went to ESPN Zone to buy a shot glass and then started wallking back to our hotel on Harbor. My feet hurt so bad, I kept trying to talk my husband into carrying me. He wasn't going for it. LOL

That is good to know. I think I will consider eating an early dinner there. I was trying to figure out one more place to eat but didn't want to spend forever getting there and back. This will work out good.
I take it then the DCA is very close to walk then too? You can easily go from one park to another?

If my estimate is right (I haven't actually walked it, but I saw it last time I was there), I would say that from the entrance turnstiles of Disneyland, DCA is about a 45 second to 80 second walk, depending on your walking speed. ;)

DCA is closer to Disneyland's entrance than the bus drop-off point at WDW's Magic Kingdom is to the Magic Kingdom entrance turnstiles, if my memory is correct.

I can tell you for sure in two weeks. ;)

It's THAT close???? Wow! I remember when we were at WDW it took alot of time to actually switch parks and wait for busses. To think it is all right there!

I have a picture of the C A L I F O R N I A letters in front of DCA. My husband is standing in the "O". I was almost to the front gates to DL to get all of the letters. (You can barely make out our stroller and my Mother In Law in the photo.

That's how far the walk from DL front gates to DCA front gates is.

KrisJ:

If you are going only for the purpose of eating at the Rainforest Cafe, I would suggest the same scenerio Dopeysgal suggested...

Rather than walk clear back to the front of DL to exit, cross the entry way, and then walk through downtown Disney, I would plan your schedule to be in the Tommorowland area before you leave for the Rainforest, then just catch the monorail there and get off in Downtown Disney. From there it's really close.

If you're walking, once you get into Downtown Disney, it's almost all the way to the end of the "road" to the RFC, and if you haven't been there before, you may be tempted to stop in a few shops or look around (which could be an option too). After dinner hop back on the monorail there and continue on from where you left off in DL earlier!

Thanks for the tip. We will be in DL and just going to Downtown Disney so I wrote the monorail tip down.
