How far is Polynesian Resort and Contemporary (PS reservation)

Hi,

Now that I have my resort days taken care of and will now be staying 3 nights at CBR followed by 6 nights at the Polynesian Resort for my solo WDW trip in Feb, I need some help with my Chef Mickeys reservation.

I have a solo PS reservation at 8:40 am at Chef Mickeys. I will be staying at the Polynesian Resort on the day I have this so I am wondering how close are the two resorts. I thought they were within walking distance, but I could be wrong.

They told me something about giving atleast one hour to travel from the resort to Chef Mickey's, which is the same thing they told me about Liberty Tavern and Donald's Breakfastosaurus.

From the Poly to the Contemporary: 3 stops on the monorail. 20 minutes? No walking here: there are no sidewalks.

The Poly and the Cont. are connected by monorail. You would catch the monorail at the Great Ceremonial House, on the second floor (it is the Poly's lobby, restaurant, and shopping area) and then it will stop at the G. Floridian resort and the Magic Kingdom. The next stop is the Cont. It should take around 10 min. but I would allow 20 in order to find everything. The Seven Seas Lagoon is between the two resorts, so no walking between the two.

The "one hour for transportation to the restaurant" speil is pretty standard.
It can take a long time to travel between resorts, but not on the monorail.

When does the monorail service start running and will I make a 8:40 am PS reservation at the Contemporary.

well you need to be there 15 minutes before your reservation (I think) -so I would get on the monrail at 8:15 at the latest - that should get you there around 8:25 - plenty of time to get to the restuarant.

you will be on the monrail at GF and MK - before it gets to the Cont.

Check this with the Poly-- but I'm pretty sure last time I stayed ( a long time ago) there was also a boat you could catch between the two. However, with the monorail-- there's no need. You'll be there before you know it!

The resort monorail begins running at 7am so you will be fine.

keagansmom, there is no longer a boat from the Polynesian to the CR. The routes changed quite a while ago...perhaps when the GF opened or maybe when the CR and bus entry to MK was opened.
