anyone know? is it walking distance? would rathhr just take radisson shuttle over to port (heard to many problems with budget) thinking about returning car and walking back to radisson-is that a possibility? thanks

Yes, the Budget office is within walking distance to the Radisson. I was surprised to see how close it actually was last August. We probably would have used Budget last year if it wasn't for the fact that I had several coupons, to use another company.

it is about two blocks down from the Radisson and is a quick walk. We did this, and it worked fine for us.

What kind of troubles have you heard about? We used Budget in May and had no problems. Picked the car up at the airport and dropped it off right by the Raddison. We were able to get a shuttle right away. After the cruise, we got the shuttle (had to wait about 10 minutes), got to the office, got the car and off we went!

One more question, along the same line... how far is the Radisson from the Port? Walking distance??

I think that would be a little bit to far to walk.

1.) Walk to Budget is fine from the Radisson... not too far.

2.) The walk from the Radisson to the port is long, especially carrying luggage, etc. Take the shuttle (free) from the Radisson.

3.) We just rented a van from Budget (12 person) for two families. The van worked out great and we returned it to the Airport this morning without a problem. However, when we picked up the van we were told it had a FULL tank of gas. After leaving I noticed it only had 3/4 tank. I did not call them to notify them (I should have). We decided it wasn't important and to only return the van with as much gas as we had found in it.

We did this and I had a hard time dropping the van off and trying to get them to understand the discrepancy since I had signed a form showing a FULL gas tank. At the drop off spot at the airport, I tried to explain and then was told I'd have to go inside to the counter to address the problem. After waiting and working through the problem, they corrected my records. It was a hastle and all the while my family was at curbside check-in wating for me. Do yourself a favor, check the gas and report it if there is a discrepancy before your pull off the Budget lot.

I hope this helps!!

That problem with the gas can be a common one, as the Budget office at the port does not have a refueling pump. We had the same thing happen with one of our car rentals there, but the counter agent warned us and I made sure it was noted on the paperwork.

Ok, I've read some threads about budget being slow to pick up after the cruise. If you used budget and stayed at the radisson, I'm wondering if this scenario is possible.

We rent a car at mco and go to the radisson. Next morning, we turn in car to budget, and have budget take us to ship. (that is only a 1 day/1 way price right? even if we turn it in next morning?)

Then, when cruise is over, if it looks like budget is slow getting there, is there a radisson shuttle we can just take back to the radisson and walk over to budget? Is that something we should even consider?

We used budget both ways in February.

We had a wonderful service. Nice car.

At port, it is only 5 or 10 minutes walk from the Radisson.

When we returned we had no problem with the shuttle. However, we were on the first dining rotation so the first to get out of the ship.
