How far into future can you borrow?

We are new BLT owners and would like to plan out 2 Disney trips in the next 2 years but do not have enough points even if we bank this years and borrow from next year. Can you use banked points and combine them with 2 years' worth of borrowed points?

You can borrow from the upcoming Use Year's points - for example if you want to take a trip in 2010 UY you can borrow 2011 UY points but you cannot also borrow 2012 UY points into the 2010 UY; but you can bank 2009 UY points into 2010 UY to give you third allotment of points to utilize.

You can have 3 years worth of points allotment in a given Use Year - so that would be
current UY points + previous UY points which have been banked into current UY + upcoming UY points which are borrowed into the current UY

If you require more points you can arrange a transfer of points from another DVC member or purchase a small add-on contract too if you think you may need extra points on a regular basis above what banking/borrowing/current UY points will provide you to cover a trip.

Unfortunately, no you can't. You can only borrow from the next UY. Is it possible to split your trips over 2 UYs?

For example if you have an August UY.

Trip #1 = April '10 -> this would be an '09 UY trip. So bank '08 & use '09 pts

Trip #2 = Sept '10 -> this would be a '10 UY trip. So use '10 pts plus borrow '11 pts

It's possible to use four year's worth of points, but your trip would have to fall over your UY and you would probably have to make two reservations and link them.

For example:

You have a Sept UY. You plan a trip for late Aug through early Sept. You could use banked current and borrowed points for the days through Aug 31. Then on Sept 1 you could use borrowed points from the next UY.

Like a trip from Aug 15, 2009 to Sept 15, 2009:

For the Aug 15-31 nights:
Use UY 07 banked points (good from Sep 1, 2008 to Aug 31, 2009),
UY 08 current year points (good from Sept 1, 2008 to Aug 31, 2009),
UY 09 borrowed points (good from Sept 1, 2008 to Aug 31, 2009),

For the Sep 1-15 nights:
UY09 current year points (good from Sept 1, 2009 to Aug 31, 2010),
UY10 borrowed points (good from Sept 1, 2009 to Aug 31, 2010).

Keep in mind that the applicable use year is based on the date of stay, not when you make the reservation. So if you have a June use year and make a reservation in September 2009 for August 2010, the current use year for that reservation would be 2010, not 2009 so you could borrow 2011.

Just buy more points. It's much easier.
