should I book my airfare? I have two trips planned. One in March 2005 and one in July 2005.

My Plan is that when I am at 330 days out and can book air. I am going to watch the fares. I do not want to pay more than $500.00 total for my son and me. We are flying from Milwaukee and I want non-stop.

SO I guess when you can book. Start looking.

It's SO hard to say! I started looking for airfare in March for our trip in December. At that time the fare was $265 for R/T non-stop. I was really hoping for a fare around $200 (or less :teeth: ) I talked to a TA in April and she said "Oh you better book it now or it might go up." It was still $265. Then someone who goes to Disney twice a year told me to wait until September, she said she gets the best fare prices 4 months out. I decided to wait until September or if I saw it go down to $200 (my target fare) .... well, it fell to $233 mid-July, then from $233 to $150 on August 10th and I grabbed it!

All you can do is set a target price and keep watching. I planned to book as soon as I saw it hit $200. Luckily for me it dropped below my target price. Some people book up to a year in advance, but I always seem to find better fares closer to my travel date (3-4 months out) UNLESS you are going at a time you KNOW to be very busy (Spring break, Christmas break, ect....) then you might book farther in advance to make sure you get the flights for the days you want.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies. I've been looking two and three times a day for the past two months. Nothing! Usually I pay around $175 for a round trip ticket on US Airways or Spirit from Philadelphia or Atlantic City. Right now the prices are very high. Even the flight times are terrible. I guess I'll have to keep checking. I refuse to pay what they are asking now. Hopefully something will turn up.

We're going to WDW in March of 2005. I started watching in March of this year and finally booked in July on Jet Blue for $172 R/T from Boston to Orlando, non stop. The fares jumped way up when I checked the prices one week later so I'm glad I booked when I did! Good luck!!
