How far in advance do all the studios get booked up?

I've been looking for availability to use up some points that expire 12/1/07. I haven't been able to find anything for more than 2 days at a time (except for one week in November).

Is it typical for all the studios to be gone at 4 1/2 months out? (or is it just the time of year?)

What is the usual cut off time when most everything (studios) is taken?

Thanks,
Mike

Basically, yes. Did you look at August? Or early Sept? Those might be your best chances. Oct and Nov get booked up early.

I'm sure you can find something in late August and much of September. You should just ask MS to reserve a studio for any dates between now and 11/30.

If you are looking for specific dates in November only, then you will likely need to use the waitlist - although I expect you can find availability at HH and VB during much of November.

If you are flexible with resort and dates (and even room type) you should be fine. If you MUST have a studio during late November only at WDW, then you may not have easy success.

Good luck!

Thanks for your responses. I may have to just book whatever is available. The only problem with that is that the dates that I'm available to travel aren't available.:sad1:

But to answer one of my original questions, "How far in advance do studios become all booked?"

Thanks,
Mike

October- first of January is much more likely to fill up early than Feb-September (with the exception of holidays). The weather is October and November is perfect, crowds are low, points are cheap, F&W festival is happening. In December you get two weeks of very low points with all holiday decorations up to enjoy, followed by two weeks of prime holiday travel. The first of January you get low points again, many schools are out, and the marathon.

On the flip side - Late January-February is not as great with weather, not many holidays, lots of rehabs and closures. March/April are going to pick up around Easter but the points are more expensive. May-June points are slightly lower than later in the summer and crowds are less, but still not as popular with people not tied to the school schedule as the perfect weather and minimal crowds of fall. Late June-July - expensive points, lots of crowds. lots of heat. August-September - Heat, Humidity, and Hurricanes - probably the worst two months of the year to visit and the least popular with DVC owners.

Great answer!:thumbsup2 I copied and pasted that into my trip notes.
