How far in advance do they usually announce rides being shut down for repair work and such?

I'm just curious because I've seen a lot of posts lately about certain rides being shut down during certain times.

pretty far in advance (months) you can check the disney website for the current refurb. schedule at all of the parks.

There are also rides that get shut down for a short amount of time during the day because something isn't working quite right. Of course, you can't plan for this. Test Track and Space Mountain would be examples. Not that it happens a lot-but it does happen.

Sometimes they surprise you to! They didn't announce that the land was being shut down until very close to actual shut down.

I think it depends on whether the work is regular scheduled maintance that needs to be done over the years or if they are finding the ride to have problems coming up regularly. I think they try to make the anncouncements as soon as possible but sometimes they realize they need to do something closer to the actual time.
