How far in advance to send chancer email?!

we went as a family of 10 beginning of august, 3 rooms. I emailed and asked if there was anything they could do as we were going for my dads retirement and would love to make it extra special etc.

We got better rooms - jesse james - right opposite Chuck Wagon Cafe and a view of the river. And they had decorated my parents room full of balloons, heart shaped balloon on drawers with ribbons and bells! and a card for my dad saying happy retirement signed by the fab 5!

was a fab hotel!!!! when my parents checked in and said their name the cast memeber said - oh you have just finished work havent you??!!

Where did you contact for cheyenne, we are going in 6 weeks and it is my daughters birthday and our first visit so would like to make it really special

what email address did you email?

this was a wedding anniversary and the did naff all however was also told cheyenne didnt have a direct email address and had to email the guest communications

I used the guest communications email, then I faxed the Sequoia Lodge hotel a week before I went.

And did you get some extras Nikki? Must try faxing the SL before we go. Thanks for the tip. The hotels do have direct emails, its just the public arent meant to have them as far as I know!

I got a room with a terrace which is what I requested. I mentioned that I know it is not always possible & would understand if this couldn't happened. I got a room with a lovely terrace & I got a bottle of water & chocolate coins for the kids & my birthday.

I think the way to go about this is, by all means contact the hotel and let them know what kind of special event you're celebrating on your DLP visit etc, but don't expect anything - that way you're not disappointed if the hotel doesn't provide any extras, and pleasantly surprised if they do .

oh it definitely was! was great! very busy and weather not great but was amazing! hotel fab! i may even be converted to they cheyennes biggest fan instead of DCR!!

i just used the guest emails and got a reply from the uk one saying they had passed on the email to hotel. I added an attachment of the pic we all had on tshirts too thought they might like to see how disney mad we all are!! they had printed that off too and put a copy in room.

my brother had done 2 recent press trips and he emailed the press officer asking if they could do anything that money couldnt buy, ie fast passes or access to a swimming pool and they emailed back offering 10 vip faspasses for 1 day!!! was great! my dad loved having his grandkids together

I don't know whether the size of the hotel would make any difference as the bigger the hotel the larger the number of staff etc etc. I think you just need to bear in mind that probably at least half the people staying in the hotel are celebrating something special and at least half of these people may have emailed/faxed/phoned in requests. If I were you I'd contact them mentioning your own special occasion/requests but like Elaine and Nikki said in previous posts, don't expect anything then you won't be disappointed.
